[Sunna Cosplay] The Vitality Representative in Zenless Zone Zero Collaboration: Clash of Mint Green and Pink

Riding the wave of the collaboration between Zenless Zone Zero and KFC, this set of Sunna cosplay official photos was released during the event. At first glance, phrases like "low battery" and "getting shocked" in the post caption actually describe Sunna's setting of having an electric cute vibe. Today in the studio, I decided to record this look in its purest and freshest state.

Let's first talk about the composition of this outfit. The main piece is a light pink sleeveless halter bodysuit, printed all over with various cartoon little monsters, musical notes, stars, and tiny hearts, preserving an anime-style playful charm while keeping the large area of pink from feeling monotonous. For the bottom half, I paired it with a White stockings cosplay setup using pure white over-the-knee thigh-high stockings. White stockings are actually harder to wear than black ones because they have extremely high requirements for skin tone and leg shape; however, tying them with wide cuffs visually elongates leg proportions, highlighting a young girl's slender vitality. On my arms are pink-and-white horizontal striped knit arm sleeves, soft yet carrying some thickness, accented with a black nylon strap to add a subtle techwear touch to the soft styling. No shoes were worn, keeping the most natural barefoot state in white socks, which fits the vibe of being at home yet ready to head out for battle at any moment.

As for props, I'm holding a pink-and-white megaphone with a very unique design at the top decorated in mint green, looking like a cute "sonic weapon" in hand. The pink backpack on my back is another highlight, featuring a silver-white blade-like wing ornament hanging on the side—sharp yet adorable. To balance this prop and the backpack properly while posing, I put a lot of thought into adjusting my center of gravity.

For the wig, I selected mint green medium-length hair with loose curls. Compared to straight hair, this subtle curl not only boosts hair volume but also makes the top sides look fluffier and rounder. A huge matching mint green star hairpin is clipped on the right side, while three cute black bobby pins marked with eyes and cross shapes pin back the bangs on the forehead, fixing them into place to reveal clear eyes and brows.

During this Anime-style photography studio session, I tried various poses to match Sunna's energetic and slightly tsundere demeanor. Especially in the shots with one leg raised, I needed to balance my body, keep the megaphone pointed at a specific angle, and maintain a natural facial expression; every body detail aimed to build her lively, attack-ready state. A pure white backdrop is actually my personal favorite choice for shoots, as it minimizes lighting distractions and draws full attention back to costume colors and prop details. However, white backgrounds can easily look flat, demanding high lighting standards. The team cut the side-backlight very cleanly, giving my silhouette and hair strands a gentle halo that looked dreamlike.

Finally, some neat design ideas were applied to the layout of the finished photos. Rather than traditional large single images, we used a collage layout interleaved with smaller pictures. Attaching continuous movements or different angles as miniature frames over the main image created a sticker-like magazine editorial feel that surprisingly enhanced the photo's liveliness. From character selection, fitting, lighting adjustments, post-processing to final layout, every shoot is a re-interpretation of the character. Perhaps energy in Zenless Zone Zero really needs to be full to jump into Hollows, and I hope the Sunna captured in front of the lens conveys this abundant vitality as a Cute girl cosplay representation. With no unnecessary preachiness or burdens, it's simply immersing oneself in the pure joy brought by the character.
