[Sunna Cosplay] Handcrafting Zenless Zone Zero Maid Cosplay Outfit and Prop Log

Bringing Zenless Zone Zero Sunna's maid outfit skin into physical reality helped verify many setting details in my mind through an incredibly fun and challenging process. The overall design features a mint green color scheme paired with Cat ears elements, echoing the clear, nimble feel of official artwork, while the layered Maid cosplay elements add a touch of charming slice-of-life realism.

Starting with the hair, I selected a matte mint green high-temp wig. While this shade looks gorgeous, it reflects light easily under photography lamps, risking a cheap plastic sheen. To eliminate shine, I sprayed matte conditioner and used a curling iron to curve the ends inward. The bangs were a core focus—trimmed blunt with longer side bangs framing the face, requiring three meticulous revisions before reaching perfection. The Cat ears headband atop the head was entirely handcrafted using non-woven fabric as the primary material, embedded with thin iron wire to stand upright, and lined with pale pink fabric inside to add visual depth.

For clothing, I chose crisp poly-cotton blend fabric to construct the base white ruffled apron and navy blue puff sleeves. This fabric holds the structured silhouette of the Maid cosplay well without collapsing or feeling flimsy. Detail-wise, a classic white shirt collar pairs with a yellow geometric knot, while the red-and-black spliced tie below serves as the outfit's soul. For precision, I ordered custom heat transfer decals for the white kitten emblem and \"0.0.6\" lettering, ironing them directly onto the fabric for crisp edges that outclass basic printed cloth patches. Matching wrist cuffs on both sides feature hidden elastic bands, ensuring a tailored fit without bulkiness.

The highlight prop was the red-and-white megaphone speaker. Purchasing a basic plastic horn blank, I sanded and repainted it thoroughly. Two base coats of vermilion paint gave the red bell a weightier, matte finish. On the white handle section, I attached a silver circular 3D speaker grille and hand-painted a pink heart pattern on the side per reference sheets. What required the most effort was the small black bow atop the megaphone; given the tight space, it needed to be compact yet plump. I tied rigid crepe fabric padded internally with a thin EVA foam layer to ensure 3D volume under Cosplay photography lighting.

For shooting, I deliberately chose an indoor corridor corner with a plain white wall backdrop, paired with a single side softbox to define sharp silhouette lines in Cosplay photography. The mint green hair strands radiated a luminous sheen under studio lights, creating striking visual contrast with the navy blue maid dress. Experimenting with various prop-holding angles, I settled on a smiling pose holding the megaphone—ideal for highlighting costume/prop crafting details while showcasing Sunna's lively personality. Handcrafting this complete costume and prop set deepened my appreciation for artisanal craft; every minute detail determines the final piece's quality.
