[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Playful Firefly ACG Expo Outdoor Cosplay Photo Sharing

Attended Day 1 of Firefly ACG Expo as Sunna from Zenless Zone Zero, and the outdoor Cosplay photo sharing set has finally arrived! Photographer Loulou followed me throughout the venue, and despite self-deprecating about missed shots, exhibited razor-sharp anticipation when capturing dynamic moments. Choosing Sunna cosplay this time was all about her unique vibe—a mix of sweet obedience and vibrant energy—which had to be brought out through costume textures and expressive movement.

Let's start with the wig custom-styled by the wig artist: the silver-greyish white fibers look remarkably soft under indoor lighting. I specifically adjusted the orientation of the bangs and side strands so her signature angles remain intact whether bowing or turning. The Cat-ear maid headband features a magnetic design, making balancing it quite a test so it neither tilts nor crushes the hairstyle. As for props, beyond the cat ears and bell necktie, the centerpiece is the red backpack featuring polka-dot textures and sturdy side-wing shaping. When pulling off larger movements with the hand-held magic wand—like the light single-foot jump captured in the photo—wrist control is essential to keep the main axis balanced and prevent the prop from slipping at high angles.

Layering in the costume is truly the soul of this outfit. A prominent white apron layered over a dark blue skirt, complemented by heavy ruffles stacked at the cuffs, gives this Cat-ear maid dress a rich, full silhouette even under the bright outdoor conditions of the expo. The golden bell at the chest acts as a wonderful visual anchor, injecting a dash of warm color into the cool red-white-blue palette. On the lower body, white thigh-high stockings and red bows align perfectly with the character design, while platform white sneakers ensure a stable center of gravity during jumps and standing poses without making calves look heavy. This footwear is an absolute savior for navigating conventions—keeping feet surprisingly comfortable while weaving through crowded halls at the Firefly ACG Expo.

When I first received the edits, I immediately noticed that tsundere-esque "annoyed" expression captured in the photo—a slight streak of obstinacy that deeply aligns with her canonical stubborn streak. The photographer made clever use of indoor ambient light and reflective flooring during this outdoor shoot. For instance, in the leaning-forward pose of photo three, a low angle beautifully brought out the skirt's fluffiness and extended leg lines. Meanwhile, the jumping action in photo four retained subtle motion blur in post-processing, giving the image dynamic breathing room alongside 2D details. As a seasoned cosplayer, I feel every Cosplay photo sharing set serves as a test of character comprehension.

The color grading avoided heavy filters, focusing instead on color accuracy and shadow transparency—making whites purer, dark blues deeper, while preserving natural skin textures. Lens glare on wig fibers under harsh lighting was controlled seamlessly, averting any synthetic "plastic" look. Holding the magic wand while carrying the weight of the entire outfit actually required strong core stability during dynamic movements. For example, during the jump shot, failing to engage core muscles properly would have caused my posture to lean excessively forward.

This outdoor session at the Firefly ACG Expo truly tested my endurance, but seeing these finalized photos freeze those joyful, vibrant moments through the lens made every effort completely worthwhile. From the puffiness and tailoring of the maid dress to the structural firmness of the backpack, every piece was chosen after thorough comparison. Sharing my cosplay experiences with high-quality, realistic photos like these is the ultimate homage to the character. The photographer's candid capturing and composition gave me a sense of relaxed ease in the outdoor space, and I hope to capture more works in this state in the future.
