This shoot took place at a live-action convention booth setup. Recreating Saratoga's summer swimsuit look from Azur Lane required meticulous prep work. The wig was carefully sculpted with blunt straight bangs and twin side buns, anchored by the black headband on top and the oversized red-and-white flower on the left as visual centerpieces. For makeup, leaning into the character's 2D aesthetic, I wore purple contact lenses layered with pinkish blush and lip tint over a dewy, translucent base. The outfit featured a two-piece design trimmed in pink ruffles, with black ribbons on the shoulder straps, paired with voluminous white lace bloomers under a pink skirt layer, and finished with white strappy block-heeled sandals.

On-site, the lighting environment was complex; we relied heavily on off-camera strobes to overpower ambient stray light, ensuring crisp exposure and color fidelity on the subject. The booth provided a striped wooden folding lounge chair and a blue-and-white backdrop, complemented by life rings and colorful beach balls as accents. Most frames revolved around the lounge chair: the first seated sequence focused on the front bodice details and leg lines, angling the torso slightly with a chin-in-hand gesture to keep posture organic rather than rigid. The second reclining pose is my personal favorite from the set—aligning the body along the diagonal of the lounger accentuated full-body curves and the delicate lace shorts, with legs crossed and extended back while holding eye contact with the lens to project playful spirit alongside relaxed, sun-drenched visual tension. The third standing shot with crossed arms framed neatly against the cloud-shaped neon strip behind, highlighting the tailored waistline and cohesive color palette.

The greatest challenge was maintaining a sharp, expressive gaze under direct strobe flashes without involuntarily squinting. By subtly angling my head to find soft light transitions, I carved out sculpted facial depth. Simultaneously, posing across the lounge chair tested core stability: looking effortlessly relaxed on camera while actively engaging the neck, shoulders, and legs prevented slumping. Overall, the stage styling and garment textures harmonized seamlessly with the summer concept, and the resulting Convention photos fully met expectations.
