This time, taking advantage of the great weather, I shot a set of Chihaya Anon cosplay photos by the riverside. From the stairs to the railings, from sitting down to reaching out, every single picture records Anon-chan's unique sense of energy. Long straight pink hair paired with black-rimmed glasses is a very iconic Chihaya Anon look in my heart. The grey-and-white checkered pinafore dress over a white shirt and platform Mary Janes makes the overall style look both everyday and lively with a schoolgirl vibe like a JK uniform.
It happened to be evening during the shoot, and the light was very soft. The hair strands captured against the backlight and the sparkling water surface created a wonderful atmosphere. I personally like the composition of picture 4 the most, where I reach out to greet the camera; the gaze and movement are highly interactive. In fact, I prepared a lot in the early stages of this cosplay; the volume of the pink wig was adjusted, and the glasses were specially chosen to match the thin-framed black glasses of the character, striving to recreate that slightly confident and cute feeling from the original work.
During the shoot, we tried a lot of candid action shots, such as jogging up and down the stairs or leaning against the railing to make a peace sign with one hand. Since Anon herself is a character who loves to actively drive the atmosphere, I tried my best to maintain her sunny and socially active state in front of the lens. The wind by the riverside was strong, and when it blew my hair, it actually gave the frame more vitality. Although the bangs were occasionally messed up by the wind, that natural, unposed feeling fits the everyday cosplay style quite well.
In post-processing, I slightly lowered the highlights to make the background bridge and city skyline clearer while preserving some of the warm light flares from the environment, making the overall tone look warm and comfortable. The makeup this time was also quite clear, emphasizing the contours of the eye makeup and the natural transition of the blush, because Anon herself is not a heavy-makeup type but carries more of a girl-next-door temperament. Every time I finish a character, I have new realizations. My biggest takeaway this time is that as long as your state is right and paired with the right lighting, it's very easy to capture moments that make hearts flutter. I hope this set of outdoor portrait photography can let everyone feel Anon-chan's vitality, and friends who love this character are welcome to exchange cosplay experiences and insights together.
