A long, long time ago, the world was not the way it is now. As Witch N, I am accustomed to using a compass and books to record those fragments forgotten by time. This shoot features the styling of Nicole Reeyn from Genshin Impact. Although people always say I look like a silent angel, when I pick up the treasure-seeking compass, I become incredibly focused.
This costume has a lot of details, from the butterfly patterns on the cuffs to the golden ornaments on the hat brim, as well as the pointy elf ears and the signature blue eyes, with every element striving for accuracy. During the shoot, a pure white high-back chair and a blooming flower background were specially chosen to create an atmosphere that is both sacred and slightly mysterious. The combination of white stockings and high heels makes the overall silhouette look more elongated, while the book and teacup in hand add more of a narrative feel to the frame—after all, for a character who is an orator when speaking and a literary giant for eternity when writing, how could these props be missing?
The lighting this time was handled very softly, bringing out the texture of the blond hair and skin with great translucence. Combined with the slight red eyeshadow in the makeup, it should convey Nicole's gentle yet profound personality. Every time I do a character with such a complex setting, I spend a lot of thought studying expressions and movements. For instance, the angles of sitting sideways or slightly tilting the head in the photos are all meant to get closer to the character's temperament of 'observing world lines.'
In fact, the most interesting part of shooting cosplay is being able to briefly live as another person and see the world through her perspective. I quite like this set of work myself, not just for the completion level of the costume and makeup, but for that sense of quiet storytelling. If you also like this kind of styling with a touch of fantasy color, feel free to check out more details in the final photos.
