Today's set features Kiana's Swimsuit cosplay from Honkai Impact 3rd. The shoot took place at Beijing Ibiza; the outdoor summer sunlight was remarkably intense, but it happened to create that vibrant, energetic summer atmosphere.
First, let's talk about the styling. The wig is silver-white, braided into two long plaits draped in front, topped with a large light-blue and white polka-dot bow headband and accented with star hairpins on the side. For makeup, the focus was placed on defining the eye contours, paired with blue contact lenses to make the gaze look crystal-clear. The swimsuit chosen was a light-blue and white checkerboard pattern: a halter-neck Bikini top paired with a ruffled mini-skirt, accented at the waist by a bright yellow sunflower for a splash of color, matched with color-coordinated blue strappy sandals. A black choker with a small star pendant adorned the neck, while blue satin bow ribbons were tied around the arms and ankles, keeping the overall palette very cohesive.
The sunlight on shooting day was glaring, but near the poolside breeze it remained fairly refreshing. The first set of movements featured sitting on a wooden beach lounger with both arms stretching upward—this pose was mainly designed to elongate body lines, working alongside the blue-green water behind to cultivate a relaxed vacation vibe. Throughout the process, arm angles were constantly adjusted to avoid rigid muscle lines while maintaining an expansive posture.
The second set of poses involved standing by the pool, holding a blue-and-white lifebuoy in one hand while making an interactive gesture with the other. In the standing pose, my center of gravity rested on the right leg with the left slightly bent backward, which better flattered leg proportions in the camera frame. Serving as a prop, the lifebuoy enriched the composition and provided a natural resting point for the hands.
The third final shot is my personal favorite angle. The photographer chose a high-angle shot from above and to the side, with me reclining semi-flat on the beach lounger with legs crossed. This top-down framing elongates visual proportions, showcasing the leg lines thoroughly. Because lying down easily makes one look flat, constantly engaging the core, keeping the chest lifted, and lightly touching the headband with one hand kept the upper body pose from looking rigid.
The entire shoot was quite demanding on physical stamina; direct sun exposure combined with maintaining engaged poses depleted energy rapidly. Touching up makeup to keep the finish intact also took considerable time. However, seeing the light, ripples, and subject come together so seamlessly in the final Summer Film photos made every bit of hard work worthwhile. This photo set mainly aims to capture that crisp, vibrant summer state, and I hope everyone can feel this cozy ease belonging to summer.
