Let's get straight to the point. This Pardofelis cosplay outfit is from the Jiangnan Miaoci re-run batch. The moment I held it in my hands, I felt all that time spent waiting in the pre-order group was completely worth it. I actually paid attention to Jiangnan's previous release of Pardofelis very early on; I always loved the tailoring and details of that version, so when I heard about the re-run pre-order, I decided to grab it without hesitation. Now this re-run is said to be out of print again, so I feel super lucky to have caught it in time.

Let's start with the overall visual effect. The top is a part that I personally found quite tricky to pull off, especially regarding the fit. Just as the product description noted, the bust design is on the smaller side; if cosplayers with a fuller upper body wear it, it might feel quite tight around the chest, making it hard to achieve that crisp athletic feel intended by the official character design. But for my smaller upper body frame, the top wrapped around very snugly and comfortably. The black midriff-baring cropped base layer, paired with the white star-shaped metal accessory directly in front, has a great glossy finish that reflects light under lamps. The collar choker around the neck is worn independently rather than sewn onto the top, making it very convenient to adjust.

The waist corset and the lower skirt design are rich in detail. It's not a simple single layer of fabric, but draped together with a sense of depth and dimension. What catches the eye most are the royal blue fabric panels draped on both sides; the golden printed patterns on them are extremely crisp with high color saturation. Under indoor blue-violet lighting, this royal blue becomes even deeper and more enchanting. The metal beaded tassels along the skirt hem are one of the key souls of the outfit—they sway lightly when walking or posing, adding a touch of agility to the character.

What gave me both a headache and a delightful surprise was that giant plush tail. The fur volume is truly plush, and the brown-tan texture is right on point, giving it a solid weight in hand. The tail is fixed behind the waist via a belt; it actually feels a bit heavy when worn alone, but once put on, it balances the visual weight of the lower body wonderfully. Because of its large volume, when pairing it with a pose where one leg is raised, the visual center of gravity remains very stable.

As for accessories, the details on the gloves and armguards were not slacked on either. The black long armguards feature metal buckle decorations; the stiff, structured material gives the wrists a more empowered, combat-ready look, which, paired with the black fingerless gloves, presents an overall crisp, capable feel of a battle character.

Moving on to the shoes, this time I paired it with black-and-white high-top boots from the Huohua Cosplay Shoe Store. I actually researched these boots early on because Pardofelis has very diverse action poses, requiring boots that can support high-difficulty dynamic stances without looking out of place. The soles feature a platform thick heel design; although they look heavy, because of the chunky heel, they are actually quite stable when standing and walking lightly. The boot shaft is decorated with many metal rivets, creating a nice call-back to the metal elements on the top.

Let's talk about the shooting state. These few photos were taken in my own studio. The ceiling lighting used blue-violet ambient lamps, which cast cold tones over the dark areas of the outfit, creating a high-contrast visual impact against the original royal blue skirt. The left side of the first image and the third image were casual records taken during fitting adjustments. In the third photo with one leg raised, it was meant both to show off the boot styling and to let everyone see the flared skirt and swinging tail in motion.

Since this was the anime cosplay fitting stage, I didn't put on full makeup, so I covered my face with my phone to leave all attention to the outfit's overall tailoring, layering, and color matching. In cosplay fitting, many people fret over makeup, but I value the fidelity of the costume itself much more. I feel if the fabric texture and cut of the outfit are right, the subsequent makeup and hair styling will be much easier. This Jiangnan Miaoci re-run batch really put a lot of thought into the materials—the fabric is crisp and doesn't wrinkle easily, holding its shape under light without sagging loosely on the body, which is essential for depicting a nimble character like Pardofelis.

During the wearing process, I have a few tips for fellow cosplayers. First, the upper body is indeed small in size. For cosplayers with larger busts, I recommend checking the size chart carefully before buying, or considering custom alterations. Second, while the tail is extremely faithful to the original design, it is quite heavy with an internal support structure; wearing it for long periods puts noticeable strain on the waist, so your lower back might feel sore during long shoots. Third, although the high-top boots have thick heels, the shaft is quite tall; cosplayers with fuller calves might find them a bit tight to pull on, so it's advised to leave enough adjustment margin with the zippers or laces. Fourth, the royal blue skirt layer carries significant visual weight; if you are shorter or have a smaller frame, the skirt might feel like it's almost dragging on the ground, so it's recommended to adjust the belt position to pull up the waistline as much as possible, which helps optimize body proportions.

Although the fitting process was somewhat tedious, putting on each individual piece and assembling them together brought a real sense of accomplishment when looking in the mirror. The details of this outfit are fully maxed out—whether it's the hardware embellishments or the fabric stitching, it withstands close inspection.

One last thing to mention is the hairstyle and beast ears. The beast ears are secured with a headband, and their wearing position can be fine-tuned according to face shape, allowing even someone like me with incomplete makeup to catch a glimpse of the character's aura in the mirror.

This cosplay fitting experience—from waiting for the re-run group buy to receiving the package and trying it on—was completely worth it. The quality of the outfit lived up to my patience. Once the makeup and wig are ready later on, going to anime conventions or better-themed scenes for proper shoots will surely yield an even more complete result.
