[Shizuku Hinomori cosplay] A Dreamy Moment in Project Sekai, Recreating the Serene and Gentle Aesthetic

The styling of Shizuku Hinomori, which had been planned for a long time, finally completed all shooting today. The core idea of this shoot was to use the cleanest makeup and styling to restore the character's serene and gentle feel in our Cosplay photography session.

Let's start with the wig. Long, straight ice-blue hair will have strong reflections under lighting, so this time high-matte fibers were selected, and a small number of white-blue hair tracks were mixed on top of this basis to avoid appearing too plastic under strong light. Before the shoot, quite some time was specifically spent handling the roots and the placement of the bangs to ensure they fit the contours of the face closely enough.

In terms of makeup, the base makeup used a high-coverage matte foundation, focusing on preserving the skin's texture instead of chasing the over-smoothed look typical of internet celebrities. The eye makeup was very restrained, using a light lotus-root pink over a large area as a base layer, paired with blue colored contacts to make the expression look more ethereal and soft. The blush was applied relatively high up; the slightly reddened center of the face combined with soft lip colors can better produce a warm-cold contrast with the ice-blue hair.

The purchasing and preparing of the apparel was the most time-consuming part. The white off-the-shoulder ruffled gauze dress needed to maintain the fluffiness of the skirt hem, and every layer of folds was smoothed out with a steam iron before shooting. The blue flower hair ornaments and pearl necklace on the outfit are the visual highlights of the overall styling, especially the small sapphire pendant on the neck, which echoes nicely with the hair color. The light purple chiffon gauze on the cuffs and hem intentionally retained that sheer texture during post-editing.

The shooting scene was intentionally selected with a classical-feeling Roman column structure, paired with a large amount of white and light purple thin gauze as background fabric. The venue used a rather cool-toned purple-blue light to pierce through the softbox, filling the entire space with a serene sense of fantasy. Because it was a high-angle shot from above, the camera position was slightly high, making it possible to capture the complete collarbone and shoulder lines; this angle can showcase the weightlessness and structure of the entire costume quite well.

During the shooting process, attention was also paid to the direction of facial shadows, using a reflector to provide a certain level of fill light underneath to ensure that the three-dimensional clarity of the facial features was sharp enough. The entire process went through many shutter snaps of syncing with the photographer before catching a few materials where the gaze was natural and relaxed. The original image itself has a very clean light quality; Figure 2 overlays a touch of twinkling starlight effects on top of the original image. Personally, I feel the first image aligns better with the character's inherent serene feel, while the second deepens the dream-like anime atmosphere, standing as expressions of two different styles.

From planning to execution, this set of photos took about half a month of preparation back and forth, hoping to present Shizuku Hinomori's trait from Project Sekai of being beautifully unaggressive yet carrying a resolute gentleness. Although it's my first time cosplaying this character, I am quite satisfied with the overall presented outcome.
