[Ruan Mei Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail - A Traditional Visual Presentation of Xianzhou Temperament

This Ruan Mei styling required quite a bit of effort from our team to polish the details, ranging from the costume design to the final set building. The blue-green satin corseted vest paired with the white off-the-shoulder chiffon lace top creates a beautiful contrast between warm and cool tones, as well as light and dark colors. The emerald clasp and pink bowtie on the chest serve as the visual focus of the entire upper body. Coupled with the gold trim, traditional frog buttons, and white three-dimensional floral decorations on the clothing, the overall texture feels exceptionally rich. The ruffled collar and lace cuffs soften any stiffness, adding a gentle and beautiful touch.

For the accessories, I paired it with a string of pearl thigh rings and matching blue-green high heels, with the metal buckles at the ankles perfectly echoing the gold lines on the costume. The white lace gloves on my hands also use a loose, half-finger design with ruffles and embellishments at the wrists to ensure that hand movements do not appear stiff. My black hair features a peacock blue-green gradient highlight, matching the tone of the outfit, while the hairstyle was not pulled too tight to maintain a natural volume. The eye makeup specifically utilizes cool-toned teal eyeshadow combined with a slightly upturned eyeliner, attempting to present that cold yet non-aggressive trait unique to the character before the lens.

To match the theme of xianxia aesthetic, the shooting scene was deliberately decorated with openwork wooden window screens and pale purple sheer drapes with calligraphic inscriptions. The purple ambient light, combined with the large clusters of pink cherry blossoms and red flower branches in the background, visually creates a dreamlike sense of interwoven warm and cool colors. The white crane ornament in the scene plays an excellent balancing role in the composition, adding some nimble and flowing elements to the frame.

During the shooting process, the round fan and folding fan were the key interactive props we utilized. The round fan in the picture features a semi-transparent mesh surface adorned with prints and pink tassels, while the other folding fan bears ink-wash style floral patterns. They have entirely different textures, yet both fit perfectly with the overall attire and hand gestures. In terms of posture adjustment, we specifically looked for angles that could naturally reveal the collarbones, shoulders, and leg lines, which, along with the embellishments of the pearl thigh rings and shoes, enhanced the breathing room of the image. Especially under the alternating illumination of cool blue light and warm flower branches, the varying degrees of reflection from the clothing fabrics presented rich textures. Although this is a Chinese-style ACG attempt embedded with 2D elements, I hope to convey a sense of serene elegance and composed classical power, using genuine photographic lighting to recreate our understanding of this styling in our hearts for this cosplay photography through ancient style cosplay photography.
