Putting on this outfit for Wakaba Mutsumi finally completely fulfilled my recent obsession regarding the Arknights and Ave Mujica collaboration. The pearls and crescent moon embellishing the wide-brimmed black hat, paired with this iconic long white hair, were complemented during makeup by specially emphasizing the grey-red shading on the eyelids to approach that detached and ethereal unique temperament of hers. The cuffs utilize translucent black mesh, and the layered black skirt hem hides cyan bows and a white lining inside, which, combined with the polka dot details on the black stockings, gives the entire visual both a Gothic heaviness and a lightweight layer. During the shoot, we borrowed antique picture frames, crystal chandeliers, and a black leather high-back chair, deliberately creating a 'contemplation room' atmosphere right at the boundary between reality and dreams. That set of shots standing inside the picture frame actually broke the physical boundaries, creating a surreal collision between the character and the environment. Whether it was the tension in the fingertips when holding the white flower or the gaze looking up at the light source, repeated adjustments were made to try to convey Wakaba Mutsumi's characteristic inwardness. This set of photos demanded high control over light, shadow, and props; the cold-toned filters merged perfectly with the cyan accents of the costume, ultimately presenting a frame with a slightly retro texture that beautifully fits the theme of 'a dream one never wishes to wake from.' Sharing this final photo set now, I hope it restores the version of Wakaba Mutsumi belonging to the Arknights collaboration version in my heart.
