The convention photos schedule for the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo has been finalized. The specific itinerary spans four days from July 17 to 20, maintaining full attendance for indoor shoots throughout. If the light is right after around 6 PM, we will also move outside the venue to continue with some outdoor shoots.
To ensure great final photos, I've brought along a convenient small folding ladder this time, making it still possible to find excellent high-angle shots even in crowded spots. Meanwhile, a thick fleece blanket is also packed in my bag, which makes it much more convenient as it prevents clothes from getting dirty whether sitting on the ground or doing various kneeling poses. Catering to the needs of fellow fans, I can help look after some personal belongings on-site to reduce your load.
The requirement for taking convention photos this time is just to shoot freely; any character, male or female, is welcome. Don't worry about not knowing how to pose, as I will directly provide guidance on expressive macro-movements and facial expression cues right at the shoot. Looking at the various outfits in the reference pictures, from blue trailing skirts with a heavy drape texture to flowy white tulles, as well as more casual short shirts and skirts, a suitable camera language can always be found to present them beautifully. The lighting environment inside the venue is arranged reasonably well, and with the assistance of the blanket and the ladder, many blind spots can also be utilized to shoot with a great vibe.
Being on-site for four consecutive days means there is more room for trial and error. The combination of natural light and indoor lighting at different times of the day will yield subtle changes, allowing us to experiment with multiple textures. Having quite a bit of experience in Guangzhou Anime Convention photography and Anime-style photography usually, I am fairly confident in location scouting and composition, striving to let every costume showcase its best features. This full attendance schedule is aimed at leaving everyone with as many great photos as possible within the limited time.
