This photoshoot features Sangonomiya Kokomi in a fan-made bunny form. The overall styling adopts the form of a Kigurumi mask, creating a brand-new attempt paired with the Bunny girl theme. The makeup on the mask is fixed; the eye makeup enhances the deep look of the purple pupils, matched with a pink-blue gradient wig, attempting to strike a balance between 2D anime and reality.
The costume features rich layering. The upper body is an off-the-shoulder white ruffled design, with a giant dark blue bow on the chest accented with gem decorations in the center. The skirt hem is layered with multiple tiers of white lace and light purple semi-translucent tulle, where water ripple patterns exhibit a slight reflection under the lighting. The legs are deliberately paired with white over-the-knee socks, featuring dark blue cross-tied ribbons on the right sock, adding visual layering through this asymmetrical design. On the feet are a pair of white Mary Jane shoes; the overall color scheme focuses on pink, white, light purple, and dark blue, yielding extremely clear color relationships when shot in a solid-color background studio.
The shooting process was genuinely a test of physical strength. The field of vision inside the mask is limited, and combined with jumping and umbrella-holding actions, camera positions and postures required repetitive confirmation. The solid-color studio shots took a long time, particularly for the one-handed high lift and single-leg raise poses, where core muscles had to be constantly engaged to preserve the skirt's shape and leg lines. The handheld umbrella prop is made of semi-translucent lace material, which, paired with the bunny ears on the head, captures a wonderfully lightweight visual effect.
Next, we transitioned to physical sets: a study room and a bar. The study room's ambient lighting leaned warm; sitting on a brown leather sofa hugging books, the range of motion was relatively restrained, utilizing skirt folds and staggered leg positioning to adjust the composition. Upon reaching the bar's gambling table scene, the entire ambiance shifted drastically. Holding prop paper money and playing cards while leaning halfway across the table, light glowing from behind the wine cabinet fostered a slightly dangerous yet alluring atmosphere. This photo set places emphasis on stockings and leg lines, requiring constant adjustments of the center of gravity during shooting.
From an overall coordination perspective, the combination of Bunny girl and Kigurumi is a fascinating attempt. Although appearing through a mask, relying on costume details, scene transitions, and body movements still allows the expression of distinct emotions. A lot of dedication went into the details of the costume and White stockings for this photo set, and I hope to showcase this style of cosplay blending 2D and real-life locations.
