Choosing the coast for this shoot of Sangonomiya Kokomi's default outfit was inspired by how naturally her design elements harmonize with oceanic surroundings. Preparing for this on-location shoot took plenty of care in garment fitting and wig maintenance. The blue-and-white palette of this Genshin Impact costume is delightfully crisp: an oversized bow across the chest anchored by a metallic brooch, complemented by seashell ornaments and red knotted tassels along the back, creating rich visual depth. To align with practical beach swimwear styling, I made thoughtful adjustments to the undergarments, opting for white safety shorts and form-fitting underlayers to ensure the high-slit sheer fabric flattered bodily contours during movement while guaranteeing complete comfort and modesty.

Regarding props and accessories, the deep-blue lace choker centered with a teal teardrop gem, alongside braided hemp cord and pearl accents on the right shoulder, enriched the composition with fine nuances. The pink-to-blue gradient wig tended to tangle easily in the sea breeze, so I kept leave-in conditioning spray and a wide-tooth comb on hand to maintain sleek, flowing locks between takes. The light blue seashell backplate and red-and-blue tassels showcased in the rear view of Figure 3 required precise angle adjustments to achieve a dimensional look in-camera, a detail I rechecked meticulously.

The coastal weather shifted noticeably during the shoot. In Figure 1, brilliant sunlight reflected off the sea under clear skies, highlighting the satin sheen of the fabrics and the luster of the gems. By Figure 2, cloud cover thickened and gusts picked up, with surf crashing against coastal reefs creating incredible mood. The foremost hurdles of coastal shoots are lighting and wind. Intense glare risks blown-out highlights, so I pulled the exposure down by about one-third of a stop to preserve the fine blue-and-white stripe patterns. While the breeze created gorgeous drape with the floating sheer train, it also threatened physical balance, leading me to position against the wind or harness gusts to guide the direction of the ribbons.

Holding the blue-covered booklet as a narrative prop introduced storytelling depth, keeping hand gestures fluid and relaxed. To flatter leg lines and bodily curves, I incorporated sandy shores and rocky reefs into the foreground to introduce layered framing. The high-slit cut naturally accentuated the waist, torso, and legs when squatting or angling sideways—a balanced reveal that captures summer coastal refreshment while achieving canonical fidelity.

This collection captures the entire journey from bright sunshine to heavy cloud cover. From assembling each costume piece to teasing the wig's gradient layers and catching natural light along the coast, it was a comprehensive effort in anime cosplay visualization. Standing along the ocean in this ensemble was pure joy, making for an immensely rewarding creative experience.
