Putting on this iconic white-and-blue sailor uniform and neatly tucking away the gorgeous court attire belonging to Fontaine into the wardrobe, I had only one thought in mind when shooting today's set of photos: I just want to be the most ordinary high school girl.

The charm of the character Furina from Genshin Impact goes far beyond her spotlight-stealing presence on stage; her everyday vibe is actually incredibly captivating. For this outdoor shoot, I specially chose a pedestrian overpass corridor filled with a modern industrial feel, utilizing the slanting afternoon sunlight to accentuate the character's silhouette through distinct light and shadow contrast. The white JK uniform with blue trim is a classic design, paired with a matching bow tie and uniform bag, striving to visually present a clean, translucent schoolgirl aura. This minimalist style actually demands more meticulous lighting because the white fabric can easily overexpose if one isn't careful. Therefore, during the shoot, I specifically adjusted the camera's exposure compensation to ensure that the fine wrinkle details on the cotton fabric and the texture of the skirt hem remained clearly visible.

To guarantee a dynamic feel in the images, the poses avoided stiff, static stances. Instead, we designed several playful, everyday moments. For example, lifting one leg while raising an arm to maintain balance, or walking straight forward while holding the school bag with both hands—capturing the carefree, lighthearted steps of a 17-year-old girl on her way home from school. The luster of the wig also looked very natural under the sunlight, and that iconic ahoge on top of the head could perk up at any moment, adding a touch of childlike playfulness to the overall look.

A slice-of-life setting like this is actually the ultimate test for the spirit of a cosplay costume. From the flatness of the bow tie to the curvature of the skirt hem, every detail required repeated adjustment before the shutter was pressed. Furthermore, in a semi-open space like an overpass, the lighting changes incredibly fast. When clouds occasionally blocked the sun, we had to instantly alter our shooting strategy, using reflectors to fill in the details of the shadow areas. Although the shooting process was a bit grueling, and walking back and forth along the corridor in a uniform and leather shoes tested my physical stamina, the moment I saw that silhouette in the viewfinder, I felt that I had truly, briefly crossed dimensions.

Trying to recreate a character is not just about putting on the clothes; it is more about pondering what kind of posture and gaze she would use to face the world if she were an ordinary person. Today's weather and lighting were incredibly supportive, so post-processing didn't involve excessive editing, focusing instead on restoring real textures and skin feel, giving this set a natural, film-like filter effect. To me, this wasn't just a cosplay shoot; it felt more like a date with the character on a sunny afternoon. Furina's original story carries a lot of chaotic, fate-driven weight, but at this moment, I only want to preserve her relaxation and brightness. Looking at these final photos, it genuinely creates an illusion of having dropped a heavy script, as if I spent a fulfilling Monday right alongside her. I hope to convey this unburdened, vivid energy to everyone through the lens. As for everything else, we can leave it for tomorrow.
