[CICF Convention Photos] Refreshing Blue and White paired with Red Eyes, A Casual Cosplay Day

On the second day of the 2024 CICF convention, the crowd inside the venue was even larger than imagined, with the air buzzing with enthusiastic conversations and occasional cheers. The moment I finished my hair and makeup, changed into my outfit, and stepped into the venue, I instantly felt the unique magnetic field exclusive to comic cons.

The core of this look lies in the combination of the silver hair, red eyes pairing. The long silver-white hair presented a soft texture under the indoor light sources. When styling, I intentionally teased the top to make it fluffier, and paired with blue twin-tail hair ties, it looked both layered and lightweight. The red colored contacts were the focus of the makeup. To integrate them better into the overall look, I chose a cool-toned base makeup, paired with pinkish-purple eyeshadow blending, and deepened the outer corners with a dark shade to make my gaze look deeper and more spirited.

The costume details are rich; the blue-and-white off-the-shoulder sailor collar design beautifully displays the shoulder and neck lines. The little carrot pendant at the neckline acts as the crowning touch, breaking the monotony of the blue-and-white color scheme and adding a touch of playfulness and vitality. The sleeves and back hem are connected to multiple blue semi-translucent ribbons, which naturally sway with the airflow when walking or turning around, making it highly eye-catching.

In this matching, the most worth-mentioning element is the leg adornment. Pure white over-the-knee socks coupled with a blue leather thigh ring at the thigh visually elongated the leg lines, giving the overall styling a touch of rebelliousness. Meanwhile, those massive white plush animal slippers on my feet offered a complete 'gap-moe' contrast to the overall ethereal style. Wearing them to browse the con not only added fun to the outfit, but more importantly, effectively relieved foot fatigue from standing all day.

The photographer knew exactly how to capture these details. We shot at multiple spots across the venue, utilizing the indoor natural light and ceiling spotlights to capture many natural moments. Those candid captures of reaching out, turning around, and balancing on one leg were actually meant to break the stiffness of static posing. My favorite is the composition where I have one hand on my hip while leaning slightly sideways; it not only displays the layers of the clothing but also beautifully showcases the features of the white socks and the thigh ring.

I think the most charming part of conventions is this spontaneity and freedom, where everyone gathers due to shared hobbies; even strangers can look at each other and smile because of a single photo. Recording these vibrant moments is simply to hold onto the joy of the present.

Looking back at today's photos, whether it's the hair and makeup details or these frozen actions, they serve as the best record of this day. Every trip to a con harvests completely different experiences and feelings; these tiny expectations in ordinary life feel exceptionally precious. I hope there will be more vibrant opportunities like this in the future to experience the joy brought by different styles through this convention diary entry.
