Just wrapped up this outdoor shoot set against traditional Chinese architecture, and on set I really couldn't help laughing—my superior actually blushed! This time I cosplayed my signature hero, Dyadia. To bring out her unique essence, we put immense effort into the costume, makeup, and props. In the photos, you can see this crimson mini dress with a subtly alluring backless cut. To match this red attire, I chose White stockings patterned with subtle heart jacquard alongside a pair of white stiletto high heels. Standing before antique wooden pillars and blue-stone steps, the visual contrast between vivid red and crisp white created an intense, photogenic impact. However, balancing in slender stiletto heels on textured stone steps demands exceptional core and center-of-gravity control—you have to point your instep taut and grip with the balls of your feet to hold an elegant seated poise without slipping, which is a core-stability technique I've practiced repeatedly for outdoor shoots.
As for these long teal tresses, to achieve the airy, wind-swept flutter seen in the photos, we prepared a portable mini fan on location alongside natural breezes. While the final images look utterly celestial, during the actual shoot the long synthetic fibers kept whipping across my face or tangling with my partner's wardrobe! Beside me in the photos is the blue-haired Dasiming cosplay, who lore-wise is my superior. To harmonize with his composed, aloof aura, I designed several interactive poses. Dyadia is never just a delicate figurehead; she has an agile, spirited personality, so I steered clear of stiff, solemn poses. Instead, as seen in the frames, I had him point into the distance while I alternately looked straight into the lens or tilted my gaze away to forge dynamic optical tension. Because this composition required him to lean in very close, he actually got terribly shy behind the camera—holding back giggles took us quite a few takes to nail!
On the makeup front, to contrast cleanly with the teal wig, I picked pink-toned circle lenses. The eye makeup emphasized separated lashes and soft outer-corner smudging without heavy saturation, keeping the skin looking dewy and fresh. The outdoor sunlight was brilliant; the golden cloud motifs woven into the red silk shimmered with rich luster in the natural light, saving plenty of fill-light work in post-processing. White stockings can easily blow out under intense sunlight, so I constantly repositioned my legs to let diffused bounce light sculpt the leg lines. Blending anime-styled characters into traditional architecture was such an exhilarating experiment; shifting an accessory's placement immediately anchors the entire presence. Posing on stone steps was certainly a workout—preserving the drape of the crimson dress while ensuring flattering leg extensions left me feeling like I'd completed a full-body flexibility routine after every take!
