[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Bride Photoshoot Record

Today, I am sharing my thoughts and experiences from shooting this Honkai: Star Rail Firefly cosplay Bride photo set. Starting with the costume, the outer layer of the dress features translucent tulle with a delicate gradient transition between light blue and white. The corset vest around the waist has internal stiff support, making it quite tight and constrictive, so I had to keep my back straight at all times while posing, which placed high demands on stamina and posture control. The yellow frills across the chest and the lace choker around the neck were added to enrich visual layers, producing great effects on camera. A lot of effort went into the head styling this time: smoothing and straightening the long silver-white wig took considerable time, as long wigs tangle easily. The headband and teal bow were essential for locking in the hairstyle, while the sheer bridal veil behind was styled according to the studio lighting—this ethereal fabric radiated a unique, delicate texture under the lights. The part of the shoot I was most satisfied with was the leg styling: over-the-knee White stockings with ruffles, paired with gold-and-blue leg rings and white high heels, beautifully accentuated my figure in full-body compositions. Especially when sitting on the wrought-iron chair or crossing my legs, the blue and white elements appeared harmoniously unified before the lens without losing the cool, pristine essence of a Bride. Studio lighting was predominantly cool-toned, with a backdrop featuring white wrought-iron chairs and blue-and-white floral arrangements. To complement the cool light, sheer drapes were arranged around the set, creating an airy, ethereal space. During the shoot, the photographer's angles were mostly eye-level or slightly high-angle—particularly for full-body and seated shots—to maximize the volume of the skirt and the lines of the legs. Hand gestures required conscious care, such as holding the bouquet or gently adjusting the veil, to keep them looking natural. As a bridal interpretation of Firefly, the overall hair, makeup, and costume accessories stayed as faithful to her original lore and character design as possible, while incorporating romantic and aesthetic touches. For a cosplayer, putting on and taking off this outfit was time-consuming, but when paired with proper camera angles, the resulting Anime-style photography was genuinely satisfying. This session also taught me how to find the right core support points to maintain balance during complex poses. After the shoot wrapped, the photos were curated and slightly adjusted in lighting to make the overall frame more luminous and translucent, perfectly matching the visual sensation of that day.
