[Raiden Shogun cosplay] Happy Birthday: May the Lightning Shine Eternal as Always

I specially put on this outfit for Raiden Shogun's birthday to commemorate it, and every serious character interpretation during Genshin Impact cosplay brings a unique experience. This iconic bright purple long braided wig took a lot of thought in styling; the huge volume of hair needed to be braided tightly while maintaining fluffiness, and it had to drape naturally at the waist to form a graceful curve, which required sufficient support beforehand. In terms of the costume, the use of Japanese-style elements faithfully recreates the character design. The heavy embroidery fabric has a wonderful texture, and the huge red and gold bow at the waist is the visual focal point. We adjusted its size three times during pattern making to ensure its width could command a powerful presence without looking clumsy during movement, and the draping tassels also add to the overall dynamic beauty.

For the makeup, I deliberately toned down the colors of the eye makeup, trying to use cool-toned shadows to create a sense of depth. The slightly winged eyeliner combined with a cool gaze successfully establishes the Shogun's majestic yet slightly tsundere trait. During the shoot, some purple lightning effects were added to build the atmosphere, paired with soft but cool studio lighting, making the character look as oppressive as if she could draw that 'Musou Isshin' blade at any moment. Since the character naturally carries an absolute, uncompromising aura, for the posing, I chose a posture where one hand is raised to gently touch my hair while the other side reveals the shoulder and neck lines, showcasing her state where softness and majesty coexist.

For this special moment, I spent several hours beforehand on makeup and styling just to present the best form under the lens. This complex outfit and hairstyle were indeed a test of physical strength, but being able to accurately capture that calm and unhurried heroism of the Raiden Shogun made me feel it was all worth it. The cooperation with the photographer during the shoot was also very seamless, capturing many ideal moments. This day is full of the poetry of thunder and purple lightning.
