[Furina Cosplay] Fontaine's Big Star, the Stage of Water in Front of the Camera

This photo set presents a cosplay interpretation based on Genshin Impact's Furina. The overall design of the costume pursues a sense of stage theatricality, with colors dominated by various shades of blue and white, complemented by an abundance of gold metal hardware and gem embellishments. The fabric texture of this cosplay outfit is rich in layers: the outer jacket features structured fabrics to hold its shape as well as soft blue pleated lining, creating visual balance with the white shorts below and the thigh ring accessories. The wig chosen features a white base with light blue gradients; this color displays a natural luster under stage lights, while the curly ahoge on top adds just the right touch of character charm.

Regarding hair and makeup details, to match the character's refined and radiant stage presence, I wore light blue circle lenses, focused on outlining eye shapes cleanly for makeup, and chose a natural orange-pink lip color. Hidden inside the hair were numerous transparent water-droplet bead strands; these subtle details refracted delicate highlights under fill lights, making the overall look in the photos much more three-dimensional.

The shooting scenes this time were split into two distinctly different areas. The first area used dark red velvet curtains as a background, paired with vintage carved mahogany chairs and a black-and-white checkered floor, creating a theater- or court-like atmosphere. Gear clocks and crystal chandeliers were arranged on both sides of the frame; these vintage elements were well-suited to express the character's high-profile aura as a "big star." The other area was in front of wooden bookshelves, where a full wall of books conveyed rich hardcover spine colors alongside a serene academic vibe.

Props used during shooting were also intriguing. In full-body shots on the red chair, I held an ice-blue fantasy-style scepter; its metal guard and intricate carved decorations echoed the gold patterns on the costume nicely, showing clear reflective luster under light. For shots in front of the bookshelf, this was swapped for a heavy book prop, creating a relaxed daily feel amidst a sea of books.

As for shooting poses, I primarily referenced stage play expressions. When shooting on the chair, crossing one leg and holding props helped elongate visual proportions; in front of the bookshelf, leaning a hand on a book while standing naturally created a relaxed tone. The photographer was extremely attentive to light and shadow, particularly in the red curtain set where spotlight effects combined with subtle vignetting brought visual focus directly onto facial expressions and costume details. Creating this work—from donning and doffing costumes to switching sets, to repeatedly adjusting postures to ensure outfit positioning remained intact—was physically demanding throughout, yet being able to showcase the character's inner confidence and elegance through the lens was truly a deeply fulfilling creative experience.
