[Kotori Kanbe cosplay] Rewrite: A Leisurely Walking Holiday in Dawang Village

Taking advantage of a rare day off, I slipped into my Kazamatsuri school uniform, slung on a school bag, and headed out for a walk through Dawang Village. I had never shot here before, but actually wandering its streets revealed an unexpectedly tranquil atmosphere. Lush green canopies lined both sides of the avenues, interspersed with vintage storefronts and European-style architecture; free from hurried urban pressure, it invited you to slow your pace and simply explore. Having watched the mockumentary 'Kasumi Arimura's Day Off', I fell in love with that spontaneous, stop-and-go wandering mood, so for this outdoor shoot, I anchored Kotori Kanbe's character directly into this holiday stroll.

Wandering and shooting along the route, we paused outside a school building. The architectural aesthetics leaned European, rich with red-brick textures and wooden casements that complemented the Kazamatsuri school uniform with surprising elegance. The crisp white sailor-collared blouse with its neat necktie paired over a dark pleated skirt stood out cleanly against the vintage backdrop. To ensure faithful character recreation, the wig was styled with meticulous care—braiding the long side locks into neat plaits and accenting the crown with tiny pink floral hairclips. Balancing overall visual harmony, the lower half featured over-the-knee white stockings paired with lace-up brown block-heeled booties. This outfit proved remarkably comfortable for walking outdoors, with the boot leather echoing the warm wooden elements scattered throughout the set.

Throughout the shoot, I cradled a pink plush doll in my arms, which served as an indispensable visual focal point. Standing street-side hugging the plushie, I intentionally let my gaze drift blankly into the distance as my body turned in three-quarter profile, which the photographer caught instantaneously. Later, arriving at an antique wooden window, we perched the doll along the sill while I tilted my head downward to watch it. The glass pane mirrored a faint reflection of the plush, accented by drooping potted vines to lend the frame an organic, quiet slice-of-life serenity.

Toward the end, we approached a wide, tree-lined avenue to cross the pedestrian zebra lines. The street offered tremendous linear perspective, and the photographer used a telephoto lens to capture an expansive full shot, dissolving distant traffic lights and vehicles into soft, creamy color swatches. Slinging my bag over one shoulder and striding across the crosswalk, I glanced lightly back toward the camera to capture natural walking motion. The pairing of over-the-knee White stockings with a pleated skirt and ankle boots flattered clean leg contours in mid-stride, offering a natural and spirited street-style snap.

Across the entire set, we intentionally avoided rigid, complicated poses, favoring the unforced ease of an organic afternoon walk. Dawang Village offered wonderfully gentle lighting; soft, diffused illumination gave the frames a crystalline clarity that demanded minimal post-processing to achieve exceptional texture. Spending a quiet, restful holiday inhabiting Kotori Kanbe in such a lived-in, grounded setting made for a profoundly comforting creative journey.
