[Cartethyia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves summer poolside blue-and-white elf

This outdoor photoshoot was chosen at a resort with a swimming pool, mainly to match the summer vacation vibe inherent in Cartethyia's outfit. For this set of photos, a lot of thought was indeed put into the preparation of costumes and props beforehand. The wig was specially given a smooth treatment, paired with elf ears and hair accessories. The white flower and blue teardrop accessories on top of the head needed to be fixed in specific positions so they wouldn't tilt. On the makeup side, to make the blue colored contacts unify with the overall color tone, the eyeshadow also used gradient blending of the same color family.
This blue-and-white off-the-shoulder dress is the core of the overall styling. The crisscross straps on the chest and the blue neck choker needed to be adjusted to a proper tightness when worn—neither too tight to affect breathing nor loose enough to slip off during shooting. The translucent sheer gauze material at the cuffs and the pearl embellishments on the skirt hem produce a delicate luster under the sunlight. To increase the richness of details, the right hand was specially accessorized with a yellow beaded bracelet, and a fine-string anklet with a small pendant was tied around the ankle.
On the day of the shoot, the sunlight was very strong, hitting the wooden boardwalk and the water surface directly, creating a very bright light and shadow effect. The first picture is actually a close-up snapshot taken during light testing; at that time, I was sitting on the edge of the wooden board lifting the skirt hem, and the lens happened to focus on the lines of the legs and feet, forming a contrast between the wood grain and the texture of the blue sheer gauze. For the official shoot, to showcase the best state of the costume, I tried different sitting postures. When sitting on the wooden boardwalk, I needed to lean my center of gravity slightly backward, bend one leg naturally while extending the other leg out, and gently lift the skirt hem with my hand. This not only showcased the leg lines but also allowed the blue-and-white sheer gauze to present natural folds.
Around there were thatch-woven parasols and palm trees, and the breeze blowing from the water surface occasionally moved the hair strands and skirt hem. As a cosplayer, one needs to constantly maintain tension in body muscles in front of the lens, especially the core area, so that maintaining a sitting posture can still look relaxed and natural. Since it was done barefoot, the wooden boards were somewhat warm from the sun, the insteps needed to be slightly tensed during shooting, and the ornaments on the ankles also dynamically reflected along with the movements.
I am most satisfied with the full-body composition of Figure 3; the overall posture is quite relaxed and stretched, and the facial expression is also controlled relatively stably. The distant group of urban high-rise buildings served as a blurred background, giving the entire frame an atmosphere intertwined with reality and fantasy. Because I was sitting outdoors wearing a thin, light dress, I needed to pay extra attention to the sitting posture and the placement of the skirt hem to prevent wardrobe malfunctions, while also ensuring that the character's proper temperament was displayed in front of the lens. The entire shooting process was actually a test of physical strength and endurance, especially having to stay still in one posture while cooperating with the photographer to adjust composition and lighting. The fabric of this costume is relatively light, thin, and breathable, making it fairly comfortable in the summer outdoors, but wearing the elf ears for a long time still pinches the ears a bit, so they needed to be removed to let the ears rest after shooting each section. The overall photo output effect met expectations, and the utilization of light and scenes basically matched the conception in my heart.
