Appearing as Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion, today's set of photos was mainly shot on an outdoor, well-lit pedestrian footbridge.

For this styling, I specially selected a lightweight grey-blue modified casual outfit combination. Compared to the tight white plugsuit in the original setting, this outfit undergoes a significant style shift. The off-the-shoulder design combined with traditional Chinese frog button elements allows the character's image to retain her original cool temperament while adding a sense of everyday clothing approachability. For the headpiece, a deep blue headband is paired with a white plush hair ornament, which, combined with the signature ice blue wig, makes the overall visual focus highly explicit. On the makeup, I paid immense attention to the depiction of eye details; the red contact lenses are the soul of the entire face, which, paired with a cool white base makeup and a faint pink eyeshadow smudge, removes the original combat-system sharpness to present a soft yet still calm eye status. This beautifully encapsulates a delicate attempt at Anime cosplay.

The prop utilized this time is a grey-black plush toy. I had pondered over the composition before shooting; if a hard weapon were used, it would make the character appear too aggressive, whereas using this plush-textured prop can beautifully neutralize the pressure brought by the low-angle shot, increasing the character's own \"softness\". The red, white, and blue color-blocking patchwork on the sleeves, especially the white fuzzy decorations, breaks the monotony of large single-color areas, forming an excellent color echo against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds. During the shoot, I adopted a low-camera upward angle; this perspective poses high requirements on the jawline and shoulder-neck lines, requiring me to tighten my core and back muscles at all times, but it also effortlessly incorporates the sky and the white geometric steel frame architecture into the background.

Since it was shot under outdoor natural light, the overall illumination was extremely clean, showcasing the true beauty of Outdoor shooting. Guided by the photographer, I successively tried several different fixed actions. In some shots, I tilted my head and lowered my gaze to fit the character's casual, emotionless core personality. To prevent the frame from appearing entirely isolated, I would also make minor action adjustments with my hands, such as holding the railing or extending a finger toward the lens, increasing the sense of interaction by breaking the fourth wall. It is precisely this fusion of geometric structures within the viewfinder and the character that endows this set of photos with a massive sense of space, utilizing large areas of negative space and clean light and shadow to reinforce the loneliness and alienation on the character. This highlights the core of Cosplay photography.

In terms of retouching and post-production, we did not make significant color shifts; we mainly adjusted the contrast between highlights and shadows, preserving the high saturation of the blue sky while making the skin texture look clearer. Shooting cosplay under strong outdoor light, the most common issues are wig reflection or messy shadows on the face; fortunately, the light angle that day was highly ideal, which, combined with the photographer's control over the reflector position, made the highlight areas on the face extremely smooth. The translucency of this natural light is very hard to replicate in studio shoots. The natural airflow of the wig under the gentle breeze also increased the dynamic beauty of the frame.

In this set of works, I attempted to integrate the character's spiritual core into the context of modern daily casual wear for expression, extending the character's charm beyond the manga and screen into real outdoor scenes by changing traditional costume materials and pairing methods. I believe the significance of cosplay lies not merely in a one-to-one replication; sometimes this type of design carrying one's own understanding, combined with real weather and architectural environments, can instead give the character's charm more extensibility. The outdoor weather was exceptionally supportive this time, the entire shooting process was highly smooth, and I am personally quite satisfied with the final cut effect.
