[Archon Venti / Venti Cosplay] Barbatos from Genshin Impact: Riding the Melody of Wind and Harp

Regarding this set of Archon Venti (Venti cosplay and Barbatos cosplay) commission photos, I want to talk directly about the costume, props, and my feelings throughout the shooting process.

The costume is primarily white, paired with gold borders and lines—a color scheme that looks incredibly clean and eye-catching under any backdrop. The circular blue and gold starburst spliced ornament on the chest serves as the visual focus of the outfit. Paired with the bare midriff design at the waist, it both preserves the character's divinity and enhances the overall sense of lightness. The massive white feathered wings on the back are key to the shoot; not only are they huge in size, but their texture is beautifully made, easily anchoring the upper half of the frame in studio shots or themed sets. The golden starburst halo prop floating behind my back required fixed positioning and served as a great thematic highlight in Images 2 and 6. The wig features a black-and-blue gradient, with the small braids on both sides dyed blue. Paired with white flower hair accessories and blue contact lenses, it strives to recreate that signature breeze-like atmosphere.

We prepared several different scenes for the shoot. The first is a grassy garden set surrounded by lush greenery and flowers. Paired with a yellow cushion and a wooden harp, it creates a vibrant, nature-loving atmosphere perfect for showcasing the character's gentle side. The second set is a library scene featuring a brown sofa and a wall-to-wall bookshelf. The prop was swapped for a glass wine bottle filled with dark liquid; sitting on the sofa resting my cheek in one hand simulates that leisurely, carefree vibe of enjoying a lazy afternoon in a tavern. The third set transitioned to a feather-filled background, utilizing a white violin and a playful touch of holding a small golden coin in my mouth to add a splash of playfulness and theatricality. The fourth scene features a white piano and sheet music, paired with blue and white flowers, leaning toward a sacred and artistic visual aesthetic.

Images 5 and 6 are cleaner, high-key backdrops. In Image 5, against a pure white background, the massive wings are fully spread out. The low-angle perspective further emphasizes the divine atmosphere. Image 6 is a post-processed composite photo, placing the character between white Roman pillars under a sunset sky, with a mirror-like sea of clouds below, resembling a floating temple. Shooting this project required switching between different mental states and micro-expressions depending on the scene. Sometimes peaceful and tranquil, other times a bit of untamed, free-spirited ease. The use of props is also crucial—whether it is the harp or the violin, they shouldn't just be held. They need to display a playing posture or a sense of interaction to look like a living character.

Overall, this set of photos brings out the multi-faceted temperament of Archon Venti (Barbatos cosplay) through diverse scenes and props. It showcases both the ethereal and free divinity of the Anemo Archon while retaining some of the character's inherent approachability and casual charm. Recreating this image under different light and scene setups was a very earnest attempt for me in Genshin Impact cosplay. I hope to try different stylistic expressions in more diverse themes in the future. This is the beauty of professional anime-style photography.
