This photoshoot for Genshin Impact's Hu Tao took far more physical stamina than expected, both in prior preparation and on-set shooting. Once wearing the complete costume, the most immediate impression was its rich layering. The brown coat features a crisp, structured silhouette, with black lapels and cuffs of substantial thickness, while the red mandarin collar inner shirt brightens up the overall palette. The golden diamond-shaped metal buttons and Chinese frog closures on the chest boast exquisite craftsmanship, with cords and tassels swaying lightly as I moved. For the lower half, black shorts are accented with gold buttons on the sides and connected in the back to coat tails featuring subtle jacquard patterns and gold piping—a design that preserves the outfit's extended lines even during wide-range movements.

The hat is the core highlight of the entire look, crafted as a rigid, upright hat. To keep the hat secure before the camera, I used several bobby pins and repeatedly fine-tuned the angle of the golden emblem and the red blossoms. The wig features a dark brown gradient with subtle red tips, cascading almost to the floor. On set, we used a blower fan to capture dynamic billowing hair and flaring coat tails. Long hair tangles easily in the wind, so it had to be constantly groomed with combs and hairspray to ensure every strand remained sleek in frame.

The Staff of Homa prop is quite sizable; the red flame sculpting at the top is vibrant and well-tiered, while the concentric circles in the middle and the beige base below are intricately detailed. Wielding this polearm requires precise hand control—while keeping facial expressions natural, the arm muscles were actually kept taut. I especially love the shot capturing a single-leg jumping leap: engaging the core, bending the other leg backward, and preventing the staff from blocking my face. I tried this movement multiple times to find the sweet spot between my center of gravity and weapon balance. The brown shoes feature golden buckles, and the white sock cuffs are bound with red straps, echoing the costume's colors while adding clear visual segmentation to the leg lines.

The pure white background kept the frame clean, focusing all visual attention on the garment colors and the silhouette of each motion. For makeup, red contact lenses and reddish eyeshadow enhanced the character's lively, spirited charm in this Anime cosplay. When shooting photos with large movement ranges, crispness of action is paramount. Poses like touching the hat brim with one hand, holding the weapon horizontally with the other, or forming specific finger gestures cannot be limp; they require true physical exertion. After every pose, we reviewed the shots to ensure the fabric folds, prop positioning, and hair movement direction aligned harmoniously.

Throughout the entire shoot, movements and details were constantly refined. Dressing up from head to toe and coordinating props for this Role-playing game gave me a fresh perspective on physical expression in cosplay. Through this set of photos, I hope to convey this playful yet resolute state.
