This is my second time purchasing an outfit from Iyomi. The first was Vivienne, and back then I fell in love with their signature voluminous skirts and waist-cinching design, which creates an exceptionally smooth waistline once worn. Seeing this film collaboration Amiya this time, I decisively placed an order again.
Upon arrival, the garment's quality is as outstanding as ever. The deep blue dress in person is gorgeous; although lighting during a Mirror selfie can cause subtle color shifts, the actual blue is deep and richly layered. The star accessories on the skirt are made of real metal, gleaming brightly under lighting with a solid, substantial feel rather than cheap plastic, which is a major highlight.
For daily wear and photo aesthetics, I deliberately paired it with a 40cm daily petticoat. For a dress with natural drape and flare, Petticoat styling is truly an incredible invention. It supports the curvature of the skirt hem beautifully, allowing the outer deep blue star skirt and the inner white ruffled underskirt to flare out naturally, instantly creating rich depth. Without a petticoat, the expansive hem would cling flatly against the legs, losing its intended silhouette.
The top is paired with the included white shirt, featuring wide palace sleeves and a stylish ruffled bow at the chest, creating a crisp contrast against the deep blue skirt for a clean, sharp look. The metal buttons and lace-up ties cinch the waist perfectly, which is why I love Iyomi so much.
Because this was a Mirror selfie, showing my face felt like it might disrupt the overall atmosphere of the outfit, so I held a textured astrological disc prop to cover my face and keep all attention focused on the clothing. When finding angles in the mirror, care was needed to adjust the delicate waist ties so they wouldn't wrinkle from being too tight, while also preventing the metal star accessories from causing harsh glares in the selfie. Once fully worn, the tailoring fits the body contours closely, and the slit design of the skirt hem naturally reveals the inner white lining while walking, adding a lively touch.
From Vivienne to Amiya, the garment exhibits high overall completeness in terms of the skirt's rich fabric, delicate accessories, and waistline contouring. Wearing this set delivers a unique visual aesthetic that balances everyday charm with a subtle fantasy flair. The color contrast and layered depth between the white shirt and deep blue skirt truly need to be worn to be fully appreciated, making this an extremely satisfying try-on experience.
