[Leizi cosplay] Arknights Leizi the Lightning Wielder: Wielding a sword in a spring garden

Dressing in this Leizi costume, I hoped to capture that ethereal yet sharp demeanor as faithfully as possible, so I specifically chose an ancient architectural garden as the location, which perfectly complemented her setting blending traditional Chinese-style fantasy with mythical elements.

Let's start with hair and makeup. This gradient Orange wig has ample volume, and the slight curl on both sides sculpts the facial contours well. To match Leizi's non-human traits, elf ears were indispensable; I spent considerable time gluing them properly to ensure no visible seams on camera, making the side-profile angles work flawlessly. The large headpiece on top resembling interwoven golden branches is the visual centerpiece; the glowing cyan-blue cubes at the base of the horns add a paradoxical fusion of sci-fi and mythology. Securing this headpiece took serious effort with multiple hairpins to ensure it wouldn't slip when bowing or turning my head.

Looking closely at the outfit design: the upper body features a black form-fitting off-shoulder cut, with dark blue geometric piping along the neckline accentuating the neck. The black choker with a central red cord pendant, along with the red cord knots on the front, not only elongates visual proportions but also adds a cool glamour. The bright yellow wide-sleeved outer robe is exceptionally eye-catching; the drape of the sleeves and the dark blue lining create a striking color-block effect. During the shoot, the sleeve folds needed constant adjustment to showcase the fabric's natural flowing drape. The layered patchwork waist design is packed with details—from black leather and wooden blocks to cloth sashes with cyan geometric patterns, down to the red tassels, white cube pendants, and the large dark jade medallion hanging in front. Between shots, I frequently paused to tidy these intricate accessories so they wouldn't become cluttered in the frame.

In terms of props, while the long sword looks imposing, it is quite heavy; lifting it for poses required steady arm muscles to avoid looking stiff or weak. I specifically chose side-profile sword-holding and blade-drawing stances to generate a sense of power in harmony with the wide sleeves. However, strong winds easily tangled the robe and sleeves, requiring quick snapshots the instant the wind died down—a true test of synergy with the photographer.

For location scouting, we selected a traditional Chinese wooden veranda and courtyard. The thick, dark pillars and sweeping eaves provided excellent framing, especially the full-body shot using two pillars as a foreground frame that naturally drew visual focus to the character. The blooming white and pink blossoms in the background injected soft vitality into the scene, balancing out the sharp and austere aura of the outfit. For lighting, we primarily relied on outdoor natural light, preserving the rich, authentic colors of the costume while keeping facial features soft and translucent in this Cosplay photography.

In post-processing, I deliberately avoided oversaturation, subtly lowering the luminance of warm tones to make the contrast between yellow and blue look more refined, maintaining a clean and cool atmosphere. As a character defined by rich details, this shoot not only focused on costume craftsmanship but also emphasized conveying her proud yet reserved personality through body language and expression. I hope this Leizi cosplay set allows everyone to feel her unique presence in Arknights.
