[Sayu cosplay] Shuumatsuban's Sayu Cosplay fitting Record

Today's Cosplay fitting is for Sayu cosplay's outfit from the Shuumatsuban. The entire costume features multiple layers, requiring a bit of time to adjust once put on. The outerwear is a dark blue cropped cape trimmed with orange piping and a red tassel hanging at the chest. The inner white top features orange and blue geometric patterns, with a black cummerbund and an orange sash layered together at the waist, making the overall color scheme exceptionally lively. I also hung a small brown pouch with a white paw-print emblem on the belt—the craftsmanship on details is quite thorough. The fabric is fairly structured throughout, so smoothing out the cuffs and collar took several adjustments to ensure the lines draped seamlessly.

The headpiece was the focal point of this Cosplay fitting. The hat is a wide-brimmed light beige design, topped with green leaf-shaped ornaments and flanked by large dark brown plush ears on both sides. To match this outfit, I wore a light gray wig with blunt-trimmed bangs. Since this was just a Cosplay fitting without full makeup, I obscured my face using my phone and a ring of white plush trim. This white plush ring snugly framed the phone, resembling a unique mask that not only solved the issue of unfinished makeup during a fitting, but also added a touch of mystique. The light gray wig paired with the hat visually maintained a cohesive color palette.

The lower half styling also received considerable thought. The skirt's pattern echoes the top, and I wore black fishnet tights for this Stockings cosplay, tying a thigh ring adorned with teal gemstones and golden tassels around my left thigh. The metallic texture of the thigh ring and the gemstone colors stood out distinctly against the black hosiery. On my feet were black open-toe sandals featuring red ankle straps and golden spherical fruit charms on the sides. Standing in this outfit, the combination of leg and foot details truly brought the character's silhouette to life in this Cute style.

While taking photos, I tried two poses. One was cradling a large brown plush prop in my left arm while holding up the phone with the other. This brown plush prop is quite sizable and carried noticeable heft in my arms, but it filled out the composition nicely in the frame. The other pose was standing slightly angled with one hand making a gesture beside my face. Because the sandals have relatively stiff soles and the legs have accessories, balancing my center of gravity while posing took careful control to bring out the character's nimble, spirited agility. The Cosplay fitting process was actually quite tiring, requiring constant adjustments to garment positions—like the cape's hemline, the belt's snugness, and the angle of the thigh ring. Still, seeing the photo previews, the level of fidelity in this outfit made me very satisfied. The main purpose of a Cosplay fitting is to verify garment tailoring and wearing comfort, facilitating adjustments for upcoming outdoor location shoots. For example, the plush ears on the hat tend to tilt backward during actual wear, so they need to be secured to the wig with bobby pins. The cape also slips slightly when turning, meaning I might need to add hidden snap fasteners later. These are all genuine wearing experiences discovered during the Cosplay fitting, recorded to guide fine-tuning. Overall, the layering effect works wonderfully, and the placement of various accessories is well-proportioned.
