For this shoot, I opted for a pure white studio background, aiming primarily to accentuate the garments' rich layering and color contrast through clean light and shadow. The details of this outfit are exceptionally intricate: the wide-brimmed witch hat serves as the visual centerpiece, featuring a black cap body layered with cascading ivory lace borders finished with golden embroidery that looks wonderfully tactile under the lights. The curled tip of the hat and delicate metallic drop ornaments lend a hint of playfulness. To balance the considerable volume of the hat, I selected a long, wavy blonde wig with blunt bangs, styling part of it into braids resting across my chest to recreate that mystical yet gently languid aura.

The top features an off-the-shoulder white lace design accented with a sapphire pendant and strap detailing at the neckline, while dramatic ruffled sleeves drape loosely around the upper arms to introduce visual lightness and breathability. The black corset around the waist is a focal point—not only cinching the silhouette cleanly, but also echoing the overarching black-and-gold palette with golden buttons and printed embellishments. Layered with a brown leather belt, vintage hanging charms, and a crossbody leather pouch, the fantasy aesthetic takes on the utilitarian crispness of an adventurer. The voluminous bounce of the skirt is supported by multi-tiered petticoats and white pleated ruffles inside; the interplay between the outer starry-night black print fabric and the inner golden lace fluttered gorgeously during movement and jumps.

On the lower half, black over-the-knee stockings with garter straps were paired with black platform shoes adorned with pearls and bow ties, visually elongating leg proportions. The wine goblet held in hand served as an intriguing prop: set against the pure white cyclorama, the transparent glass caught specular environmental reflections, injecting luminous clarity and narrative depth into the frame.

While shooting this series, I explored standing, leaping, sitting, and reclining poses to showcase the costume across varied perspectives. White background photography puts the intrinsic textures of the costume and lighting execution to the test, as the absence of background clutter draws every viewer's gaze directly onto the subject. We utilized soft, expansive lighting to avoid crushed, lifeless shadows within the complex folds of the lace. Wearing, removing, and readjusting this heavily layered outfit took considerable time, but seeing how the light and shadow filtered through the lace tiers in the final photos made every effort worthwhile.
