[First Snow cosplay] Arknights: Oath by the Blizzard — Winter Interactions Between SilverAsh and First Snow

The experience of shooting this Arknights First Snow cosplay was genuinely special. The reason we chose the indoor window area as our primary scene was because the withered trees and cool-toned natural light outside perfectly created the chilly atmosphere of Oath by the Blizzard. Costume-wise, First Snow's blue star-patterned gown and SilverAsh's white ceremonial robe are both quite heavy and thick, with a subtle luster whose textures appeared distinct against the backlight. Special mention goes to First Snow's long white hair and animal-eared wig—styling it took considerable time, with layered strands that captured dynamic movement when catching a breeze. For makeup, I emphasized red eye makeup to match First Snow's cool, aloof temperament.

We experimented with two main compositions: one was a wall-slam pose leaning against the wall, which required balancing the centers of gravity of both characters and the distance of our crossing gazes, leaving my neck slightly sore during the shoot. The other was an embracing pose, where SilverAsh's long dark hair and cape draped down, perfectly concealing cluttered background elements. To craft the atmosphere of Oath by the Blizzard, we utilized the cool light streaming through the window and adjusted the color temperature in post-processing to give the image a bluish-purple texture. The swaying angles of the garment and the visual lines of the stockings were deliberately framed during initial composition to make the silhouettes look slender and atmospheric in this Stockings cosplay presentation.

The overall process went very smoothly with seamless chemistry alongside SilverAsh cosplay. While the poses were physically demanding, the resulting shots carried a strong narrative quality. As the cosplayer portraying First Snow, conveying inner emotion was even more crucial than striking poses—maintaining a detached yet mutually reliant demeanor felt just right. For this shoot, we took on the styling of SilverAsh and Holy Hearer Pramanix, investing a lot of effort into accurate details. We adjusted knee and leg positioning through multiple rounds to display elegant character poise while ensuring the skirt folds draped naturally. For cosplayers looking to challenge similar indoor high-contrast cool-light setups, I recommend paying close attention to lens exposure and window reflection control.
