This commissioned photoshoot in Meizhou featuring Remielle and Ramiel from Zenless Zone Zero took substantial effort from pre-production to the final images. To start with the costumes, Remielle's white attire consisted of an airy puff dress and long white feather wings, boasting intricate lace and ribbon details that truly tested craftsmanship. Ramiel's dark side featured black mesh, a leather corset, and lace garter stockings. The stockings on the dark outfit had wonderful texture, casting gorgeous reflections over the mirror shards when paired with black high heels. The tailoring was form-fitting, accentuating leg lines and waist contours, which guided my styling and pose choices. The slight indent from the garter straps brought out a bold, striking, and beautiful visual effect.

As for the set, the red velvet curtain formed the foundation of the tone, with its deep red backdrop creating a stark contrast against the black and white angel garments. The mirror shards on the floor reflected intensely, adding depth, a fractured mood, and artistic reflections to the frame. Walking on them required immense caution to avoid scratches, but achieving that visual tension between reality and reflection made every bit of effort worthwhile. We utilized props like birdcages, candles, white doves, red roses, and empty picture frames to place the two characters inside a fractured yet delicate theater. The empty frame helped guide visual focus toward the subjects, while lamps and candles provided atmospheric foreground light.

The most difficult part was managing the giant wings. Both the pure white feathered wings and the black raven wings were heavy; holding them at the right angle toward the lens required constant shifts in balance. For a back-to-back composition with spread wings, we went through multiple takes to keep the feathers neat while conveying a commanding aura. Moreover, intimate poses like leaning and embracing while avoiding broken glass severely tested our stamina. I nearly stumbled several times, but my partner caught me promptly.

The lighting setup was my favorite aspect. Side-backlighting from warm oil lamps against the red velvet let the garter lines and sheer black lace subtly reveal skin undertones, radiating dangerous allure. Synergy with my partner was seamless as we tried cheek-to-cheek framing, chin rests, hand holding, and symmetrical stances, capturing the purity of the white angel alongside the mystery of the dark angel. In seated floor shots, we extended our legs to make the stockings cosplay texture pop crisply against the camera, enduring the hard floor throughout.

Seeing the final edits, many noted how well we portrayed the contrast between Remielle and Ramiel from Zenless Zone Zero, validating all our hard work. Retouching preserved the theatrical vibe of the red curtains, the depth from mirror reflections, and the sheen of the skin and stockings. I hope sharing these behind-the-scenes thoughts provides inspiration for fellow fans of these characters. This shoot felt less like a simple photo session and more like performing an intimate play upon a curated stage.
