[Xiao Yu Cosplay] Non-Human President Yu's Blonde Bunny Ear Style Makeup Test

Today I did an Anime style makeup test for Xiao Yu from Non-Human. Although the custom original dress is still on its way, I absolutely couldn't hold back my urge to take a few photos, so I grabbed a top from my wardrobe to improvise an outfit and put on a full face of makeup first.

The blonde wig chosen this time is a light flaxen shade, which carries a natural creamy texture to avoid looking unnaturally stark white. To align with the character's nimble aura, I specifically trimmed the bangs to be slightly wispy, and the twin tails on both sides weren't tied too tightly, deliberately shaping some fluffy curves to establish an excellent visual balance with the large bunny ears on my head. The Bunny ear style hair accessory was crafted with great care—the outer layer is a soft goose yellow while the inner lining is pink, with a furry texture that looks exceptionally warm. Moreover, it's secured incredibly firmly, so it won't collapse no matter how I turn my head.

As for the makeup, I went with a pinkish, doll-like approach for this Anime style makeup test. The base makeup leans light and translucent, channeling all the focus into the eye makeup. I used a pinkish-orange eyeshadow over a large area as a base and blended it down around the lower eyelid area, specifically to simulate that nimble, slightly flushed small-animal feel. Paired with a set of amber colored contacts, it makes my gaze look much clearer and more playful. Combined with the "100% bunny teeth compatibility" mentioned in previous posts, grinning captures the character's signature tsundere yet goofy essence perfectly. For the lips, I selected a water-red shade, avoiding sharp lip lines to keep the blurred edges more natural, keeping the entire makeup look incredibly plump and pink.

Honestly, when embodying this character, the clothes are merely an exterior; grasping the expression is what truly matters. When taking mirror selfies, I kept searching for angles, trying my best to relax my shoulders and inject a touch of that confidence and smugness unique to "President Yu." This temporary white top actually holds quite a bit of clever design—the ruffled edges on the collar and sleeves increase refinement, and that black velvet bowknot on the chest is the crowning touch. It grounds the overall light-toned base of the body, giving the frame a visual focus so it doesn't appear too bland. This makeshift pairing unexpectedly shares an unintended sense of harmony.

Mirror selfies are actually quite testing, especially when wearing such tall bunny ears, which can easily make the head-to-body ratio look top-heavy. Therefore, I specifically adjusted my stance in front of the mirror several times, turning slightly sideways to appear slimmer in the frame while better capturing the cheek contours and the large head look with the bunny ears into the lens. This makeup test allowed me to discover many detailed issues in advance, such as how to layer the wig's bangs, whether the angle of the bunny ears should tilt forward a bit more, and if the eyeliner length is sufficient to elongate the eye shape. These are all highly vital preparations before officially shooting the complete, final prints for this Chinese anime cosplay.

Even though it's not the complete form because the dress hasn't arrived, I feel the effect pieced together so far is already very on-point—the furry elements coupled with the pink makeup genuinely channel that fairy-tale playfulness. Every makeup test is like opening a blind box; you can always find little surprises during this piecing-together process. Once the custom-made dress arrives later, combined with full set designs, I believe it will max out the atmosphere for this Xiao Yu cosplay.
