[Sheng Cai'er Cosplay] Throne of Seal: Responding to All Expectations with Protection

I've actually been planning this Sheng Cai'er look for quite a while, and at the May 4th MengKa convention, I finally had the chance to present it in full. This time, besides studio shots, I also took some interactive selfies at the venue. Now that the convention photos are finally organized and posted, it serves as a nice wrap-up to this preparation period.

First of all, a massive thank you to my amazing team! The outfit was crafted by Hu Yiling, and I was genuinely amazed when I got the finished piece. The blue-and-purple gradient main tone, paired with abundant ruffles and translucent fabrics, combined with intricate gold ornaments and star elements at the neckline, perfectly captured Sheng Cai'er's cool yet luxurious essence. Moreover, the tailoring of the anime-style outfit was very thoughtful; even when striking dramatic dynamic poses in the studio, there was no risk of exposure or feeling constrained. It's truly a cosplay costume that lets you perform moves with complete peace of mind.

The makeup and hair were done by my dear Meili. As everyone knows, the essence of Sheng Cai'er—besides her white hair—lies in her unique temperament. She outlined my eye makeup for a clean and luminous look; through pinkish eyeshadow and just the right amount of blush, it preserved the character's youthful charm while revealing a touch of sharp, decisive energy. The white wig also felt remarkably light in the stylist's hands, with the curves of the bangs and sideburns styled naturally without feeling heavy, looking very vibrant on camera.

Shooting this was truly a delightful experience. The two sets of studio photos were taken by Qi Yue and Wo Jiu Jiao Shi Yi. Qi Yue is adept at capturing a serene yet delicately fragile atmosphere; the solid-background studio shots were sustained entirely by light, shadow, and personal emotion. Regarding props, besides the standard costume, we paired it with her short dagger and black gloves from the original lore. The moment I held the dagger, the character's full persona surged out, naturally slipping into alert stances or combat readiness. Meanwhile, Wo Jiu Jiao Shi Yi focused more on dynamic movement and body language, shooting a continuous sequence of defensive and offensive stances that added rich depth to the character's presence.

The selfies taken on-site at the convention were super fun as well. Although the convention hall lighting was chaotic, it created that authentic feeling of breaking the fourth wall. Walking through the venue with my silver-white hair and detailed makeup, I was often recognized by exhibitors and photographers; feeling like an anime character walking in the real world was truly a unique experience. Looking back at the selfies snapped at booth fronts and posters, they're filled with fond memories.

For post-processing, special thanks go to DEVINJ. Anyone who saw the raw photos knows that convention lighting can be tricky, and white hair highlights are notoriously difficult to control. But DEVINJ handled the skin tones and outfit textures with natural precision, ensuring 3D dimensionality while maintaining a light anime filter aesthetic, giving this photo set a dreamy atmosphere while keeping it grounded in reality.

I've always believed that Cosplay isn't just dressing up to imitate a character, but a deep realization of their spiritual core. While preparing for Sheng Cai'er, I repeatedly pondered her resilience and protective heart in the world of Throne of Seal. So when I raised that dagger in front of the lens, what came to mind wasn't a posed stance, but a desire to convey a firm belief.
