[Sigrika cosplay] Wuthering Waves offline debut, recording outdoor Convention photos at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo

Opening my phone album and flipping to this photo taken outdoors at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, holding two halves of peeled Papagan citrus in my hands, I just felt the fruit's color matched the overall look so well back then, so I recorded this most relaxed moment at the convention in its original flavor. This time I cosplayed Sigrika from Wuthering Waves, creating a realistic offline realization based on the light, ethereal feel of the original design. For the wig, I chose a warm-toned bright orange, styled into double braided pigtails with each strand carefully wrapped in matching hair cords, and added inner height padding at the root to make the top look fuller and more natural. The elf ear props on both sides of the forehead also underwent skin-tone gradient treatment to avoid an obvious plastic border, allowing them to join naturally at the base of the ears. For eye makeup, translucent dark green eyeshadow was chosen without heavily exaggerating the lower eyeliner, aiming to give the demeanor a cool, detached, yet lively character vibe.

Regarding the costume, a slightly silky synthetic white fabric was used as the base for the top, spliced with a gleaming gold thin belt and hangings. The independent white sleeves on both arms feature multi-layered gathers with tightening straps at the biceps, making the upper body look sleeker rather than too loose. A layer of translucent gauze was added at the wrist for protection and to enhance the costume's light-transmitting layers. The lower body consists of dark shorts overlaid with a skirt featuring irregular front and back slits; while the main color tone is purple, it is paired with white edge stitching. Two long ribbons hang from both sides of the waist, ending in gradient purple prints adorned with colorful round beads, balanced in weight to lie smoothly beside the body when standing. The black thigh ring and the circular totem tattoo outlined in fine brown lines on the side are striking details of the lower outfit, preserving the character's specific sense of mystery from the original design.

The shoot was specifically scheduled for the first evening of Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo on the civic plaza walkway surrounding the exhibition halls, set against streetlights glowing in the night. The warm yellow light was blurred into staggered circular bokeh spots by the shallow depth of field of a medium-telephoto lens, cleanly popping the subject's silhouette out from the background. Since Sigrika's original color scheme involves large areas of white and light purple, nighttime environments pose high demands on fill light; during the actual shoot, we used a main light source plus a reflector on one side to soften facial lighting contrast, keeping wig highlights from being overly harsh while preserving three-dimensional facial features. After doing a round inside the hall in the afternoon for indoor Convention photos, we shot here for another three-plus hours at night, where securing the wig and ear props took the most effort, constantly checking the glue adhesion of the elf ears lest night winds loosen them.

The two halves of Papagan citrus in my hands were bought from a roadside stall during a break, originally just to hydrate, but after peeling, the bright orange flesh unexpectedly created a great color-coordinated echo with the wig. Since the post mentioned an orange-tinted vibe, I simply leveraged this state during shooting, casually holding the half-peeled fruit toward the camera to simulate a natural prop-enjoying movement, which gave the photo a fresher, breathing quality compared to standing stiffly in fixed poses. The tail prop behind also featured a purple-and-blue striped harness; this bulky tail needed to be secured to the belt with hidden snaps during movement and turns, so I always had to pay attention to prevent it from drooping due to gravity and ruining the lightweight, flowing feel of the overall look.

Ultimately, this two-day shoot itinerary at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo balanced high costume accuracy, wig structural support, and outdoor scene coordination. Humidity was high outdoors that night, but fortunately it didn't rain, making the overall outdoor photoshoot roadshow smooth. As a character placing great emphasis on color brightness and layering, Sigrika's white-and-purple costume appears particularly bright under direct flash; the photographer deliberately raised the main light angle slightly to simulate a natural top-light projection effect, creating a natural light-to-dark transition between cheeks and jawline for a more 3D facial shape. Being able to present a beloved character in as mature a cosplay state as possible is the best response to all the refinement during my preparation period.
