[Sigrika cosplay] In the Sea Breeze of Wuthering Waves, Echoing the Melody of the Waves

Shooting this set of Sigrika cosplay was an uphill battle; the seaside breeze not only blew my hair everywhere but also made the resistance of going into the water for the shoot beyond imagination. The essence of this costume lies in the three-layered gradient skirt hem and the arm sleeve rings design, and the orange hair color delivers an intense color tension under the soft light of a cloudy day. To ensure the natural curve of the character, movements like holding a prop with one hand and looking back into the distance required tightening the shoulder blades to fight against the sea breeze. The thick braid was actually very heavy. To prevent it from weighing down the airy volume at the top of the wig, multiple reinforcements were made during styling, and the setting process alone took quite a while.

The tide rose very quickly when the shoot began, and stepping on the wet sand with my feet and skirt hem was actually quite uncomfortable, but seeing the moment waves splashed against my legs in the raw photos made it all feel worth it. The photographer specially chose the diffuse light one hour before sunset, making the overall atmosphere warm and translucent. The frame didn't rely excessively on post-processing color grading, beautifully capturing the texture in the original character art settings.

Sigrika herself carries a young girl's liveliness and a sense of exploration for the unknown; this set of photos tries its best to restore that clear vibe of a Moe anime girl. During the shoot, a sudden wave rushing onto the reef almost washed away the handheld conch prop—a false alarm, but luckily the splashes didn't dirty the skirt surface. The final images are visually clean with no extra complex elements, relying entirely on the harmony between the costume colors and the beach environment. Presenting the character in this natural state perfectly hits the vibe of the seaside scenes in the game's CG, which can also be counted as a process of reshaping my understanding of the character through Portrait photography and Seaside cosplay.
