Cosplaying Qingxiao from Wuthering Waves at the CICF booth this time, the design of this revamped white qipao truly demanded immense dedication. From the tailoring of the mandarin collar to the patchwork of deep-blue water ripples and gold thread embroidery across the chest, the layered depth is remarkable, moving naturally without ever feeling stiff. To allow the outer white-and-blue gradient sheer tulle to flutter gracefully, I incorporated several internal fastenings, evoking an ethereal, featherlight grace.
For the wig, I deliberately chose a soft light blue with greyish undertones, and the transparent water-ripple headpieces on both sides required careful angle adjustments to keep them from obstructing my vision. Makeup-wise, to accentuate the serene master persona, the eye styling paired blue contacts with subtly winged eyeliner, while the blush and lip color retained a gentle touch of 'cool-faced moe' to balance that unapproachable aura.
For the lower half, white lace-trimmed thigh-high White stockings were paired with light blue high heels. When seated on the booth steps, given the qipao's high slit, I had to remain mindful of my seated posture and leg lines at all times—showcasing the texture of the stockings while preserving the character's dignified elegance. During shooting, the massive white wing sculpture behind the booth served as the ideal backdrop, complementing the venue's illumination to harmonize seamlessly with that tranquil, limpid atmosphere. When holding the sheer tulle while posing, subtle wrist control was key to keeping the fabric's folds looking organic. Navigating a bustling convention in such delicate tulle is honestly challenging, as it easily snags on passersby's bags or props, requiring careful vigilance throughout. Yet in the final shots, that essence of a gentle breeze skimming across still water truly came alive—hope everyone enjoys this set!
