For this Studio cosplay shoot, we selected The Shorekeeper cosplay look from Wuthering Waves. The overall color tone transitions smoothly in a gradient from cool white to icy blue, creating a highly translucent visual effect. The costume itself incorporates extensive layered sheer tulle—from ruffled necklines and fluttering sleeve cuffs to irregular floating panels along the skirt hem. Each layer carries subtle shimmering glimmers that catch studio lighting like ripples across a water surface. The veil is made of semi-transparent blue tulle with stiffened edge shaping that naturally holds a graceful arc. Blue bows and metallic hair clips on both sides add the perfect finishing touches, securing the wig's layered texture. The blue wig was styled with a layered cut, shorter in front and longer in back, with bangs trimming right around the eyes so as not to obscure expressions.
The scene setup was meticulously crafted: a sea of white flowers and pale blue hydrangeas formed a lush backdrop, while a plush white rug covered the floor, providing a soft surface ideal for various seated poses. White Roman pillars and a birdcage enriched the visual composition; the white metal birdcage in particular, housing a single white rose, harmonized beautifully with the overall serene, cool atmosphere. The key advantage of studio shoots is precise lighting control. Our key light utilized a softbox paired with a cool-tone filter, while subtle warm fairy lights hidden among the flower clusters provided fill light, giving the background a starlit shimmer without stealing focus from the subject.
Throughout the session, we experimented with several poses. The standing shot (Photo 1) primarily highlighted the train length and graceful drape of the skirt, while clear platform sandals stabilized my balance and elongated leg lines. However, my favorite shot is the one seated on the pillar (Photo 5)—with one knee bent against the pillar surface, the other leg hanging naturally, and arms resting loosely over the knee. This posture perfectly displayed the off-the-shoulder design and layered sleeves, while accentuating the slender lines of the lower legs and ankles. The photographer had me tilt my head slightly with a downward gaze, which, combined with holding a blue butterfly prop, captured a dreamy, languid yet detached expression.
For makeup, I opted for warm pink-orange eyeshadow paired with fine shimmer on the lower eyelids, giving my gaze a softer, dewier look rather than pure coldness. Glossy lip tint mirrored the jewel embellishments across the costume accessories. Wearing the synthetic fiber wig for three hours required setting spray at the crown to maintain the bangs' curvature and prevent flattening. During the shoot, we touched up makeup twice—mainly dusting matte loose powder around the nose and under-eyes to control reflections from studio fill lights.
Controlling movement magnitude proved challenging: the sheer skirt panels were light enough to float at the slightest step, yet required careful placement when sitting to avoid harsh creasing. The reclining pose (Photo 6) took several attempts to avoid metallic glare from the birdcage frame while allowing the deep blue trailing ribbon to fan out naturally on the rug. We ultimately chose a subtle side-reclining posture, supporting my body on one arm while lightly pinching the blue butterfly prop, keeping visual focus anchored on the face and upper torso. Post-production preserved the original cool-toned ambience without over-saturating, capturing the pure essence of this Blue-themed cosplay.
Looking at costume details, the teardrop jewel pendant on the bodice stands out prominently, creating a striking material contrast against sheer fabrics to brighten the look. Detached sleeves afforded full arm mobility without restricting movement like integrated sleeves. The deep blue trailing ribbon, sewn separately to the back and spanning nearly two meters, required an assistant to gently support it behind me during setup to prevent floor staining. Its crisp, glossy finish reflected light beautifully, outlining clean silhouettes in shadow areas. The synergy between studio set and outfit was exceptional—flower sea elements harmonized with the blue-and-white color palette without distracting colors, delivering pristine Anime-style photography. I kept facial expressions relaxed, avoiding exaggerated gestures to honor the character's reserved, tranquil nature.
