For this Shorekeeper swimsuit look, the sense of layering in the design was something I especially wanted to emphasize. The blue-and-white color palette of the entire piece is very refreshing, but the material paneling and pleated ruffles are the true soul. To recreate that weightless yet structured visual aesthetic, I experimented with multiple fabrics and inner linings before achieving this distinctly layered skirt. The off-the-shoulder cut puts shoulder and neckline posture to the test, so I specifically did stretching and posture exercises before the shoot to make the collarbones and shoulders appear more relaxed and open. For the overlapping bodice design across the bust, I opted for a satin fabric with a subtle sheen, which reflects delicate textures under the lighting without looking flat.
For the wig, I selected a gradient soft blue, cut into blunt bangs with side tendrils, with gentle, natural wavy curls sculpted at the ends. During styling, to prevent the wig from looking limp, I used plenty of setting spray to support volume at the crown while curling the hair beside the ears outward with a styling wand to flatter the facial contours. For makeup, the focus was placed on the eyes and blush. Blue-purple contact lenses combined with elongated eyeliner at the outer corners cultivate a luminous, ethereal chill. The eyeshadow was layered using a low-saturation dusty pink base, topped with fine glitter across the center of the lid and the inner corner. Generously diffused pink blush was brushed not only across the cheeks, but also lightly touched onto the tip of the nose and earlobes, softening the overall cool tones with a hint of playful warmth.
The accessories are the true centerpiece of this shoot. For the metallic silver choker around the neck, I adjusted the angle and tightness repeatedly to fit the neck curve, ensuring it caught reflective highlights on camera without feeling overly constricting. The cutout bow-and-cross motif rests right against the clavicle, visually elongating the neck line. The chain across the chest strung with golden round sequin disks looks simple, but catches the eye brilliantly under studio lights. During shooting, I intentionally held a segment gently with my hand to guide the viewer's gaze and add dynamic life to the frame, spending ample time perfecting hand placement so the fingers looked elongated and elegant.
For the hat, I chose a woven white wide-brim straw hat that instantly brought a seaside vacation aesthetic. With its expansive brim, it even acted as a subtle reflector during the shoot, ensuring even lighting across the face. For lighting, we primarily relied on soft, cool-toned light sources against a solid background to keep the overall color harmony intact. Blue graffiti-style brushstrokes were added near the bottom of the photos, mainly to obscure minor edge details, minimize any wardrobe exposure risks, and keep the visual focus anchored on the face and bust accessories. From costume prep and wig styling to studio lighting, this entire project took over a week of preparation, refining every tiny nuance to present the most flawless summer 'white moonlight' vision.
