The original aesthetic of The Shorekeeper leans toward a cool palette, so throughout the shoot, we focused intently on balancing the white tulle and azure butterfly accents. Though it was overcast outside, we intentionally selected an indoor studio capable of casting cool-toned light. Paired with a blue-and-white floral wall and Roman pillars, the ambiance immediately resonated with her ethereal, deep-sea tranquility.

For hair and makeup, I chose cool-toned pink cosmetic contacts to complement the gradient blue wig; the dark blue highlights through the tips resolved with stunning clarity on camera. The dress details were intricate, with voluminous white tulle hemlines and layered ruffles demanding constant grooming. To maintain a weightless, expansive spread while seated, the photographer placed a small fan behind me to capture that gentle, wind-swept softness.

In terms of pose design, I explored seated stances with crossed or elongated legs. Pairing white Stockings with slender high heels visually stretched the leg profile, echoing the sleek, fluid lines typical of 2D character art. The heels had substantial height, placing considerable strain on my ankles during prolonged seated postures; I swapped into flats between takes to rest. Handheld blue butterfly props—perched across my palms, resting on my shoulder, or hovering near the veil—infused the frames with narrative romance.

Navigating technical hurdles was paramount: sheer stockings easily produce harsh highlights under intense beams, requiring ongoing angle micro-adjustments, while bending postures were measured alongside ruffled hems to safeguard modesty. Long flowing ribbons were the trickiest element, requiring quick movements to let them settle naturally for the optimal capture. Special thanks to Hanyu Sanwei and the photographer for providing invaluable direction on micro-expressions throughout the session.

Conceptualizing this set, we referenced numerous visual descriptions of her canonical demeanor, defined by serene detachment. On set, I maintained a calm, contemplative stillness, keeping my gaze anchored to the lens even during pose calibrations. Arranging the cascading tulle and train across a white couch and blue backdrop established organic depth. Spanning three hours across varied angles, while I tested both reclining and sitting postures to highlight the waist cutout and long silhouette, seated poses ultimately showcased the design's essence best.

The lighting scheme leaned into soft blues and crisp whites. Color grading held back yellow warmth to preserve porcelain skin translucence, honoring the refined, flawless finish of a 2D aesthetic. The physical toll was substantial, yet seeing the gossamer layers harmonize with the cool illumination made every second worthwhile. Huge thanks to the organizers for this wonderful studio, and I am thrilled to present my interpretation of this character.
