This set of Takanashi Rikka official photos taken in a classroom setting is finally ready! To faithfully capture the Campus style and chunibyo ambiance of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, we specifically booked a studio equipped with a chalkboard and school desks. For the wig, I selected her signature deep violet-blue short bob with an ahoge (cowlick) on top, accented by a yellow ribbon hairband on the right side. For makeup, aside from the blue contact lens, the key prop was the white eyepatch over the right eye; to honor the character setting, thick white bandages were also wrapped around the arm. Combined with the white collared shirt, oversized red ribbon tie, beige sweater vest, and red-and-black pleated plaid skirt, every detail of her school uniform was fully realized.
On the lower half, I wore black over-the-knee Stockings and glossy black leather shoes. To accentuate the visual layering of the styling, I discussed poses with photographer Jiujiujiu Shi Yue to explore angles that flattered leg lines and the knit texture of the black hosiery. For instance, sitting on the wooden chair with my leg lifted and resting across the desk, or sitting slightly angled with legs crossed. Resting my leg on the desk prominently displayed the shoe soles, while side lighting forged a striking textural contrast between the knit weave of the black Stockings and the patent sheen of the shoes. The pose pointing an index finger toward the eyepatch was shot multiple times, fine-tuning the curvature of my fingers and the direction of my gaze to embody Rikka's uniquely confident yet adorable persona.
The studio prop decorations were equally thoughtful: the blackboard was covered in chalk drawings of paper airplanes, haloed cats, clouds, suns, hearts, and Japanese doodles. Although these chalk drawings weren't directly canon, the vibrant classroom atmosphere enriched the frame's color palette considerably. While posing, I intentionally lowered my gaze slightly or tilted my chin up to channel Rikka's state of being totally absorbed in her own fantasy world. This shoot at the Chongqing photography studio went smoothly from lighting setups to set staging; Jiujiujiu Shi Yue was exceptionally skilled with framing, capturing the interaction between legs and desks with precision. That wraps up this set's retouching—there is always more to explore in photography and editing, and next time, given suitable outdoor locations, I'd love to capture more dynamic, action-oriented frames.
