Taking advantage of the fine weather, I brought this Phrolova cosplay styling from Wuthering Waves to the coast for a seaside location shoot, selecting a setting with white Roman columns. The weathered stone textures of the architecture paired with the blue sky and expansive clouds visually supported the character's cool, aloof, and somewhat mysterious aura. Scouting locations and planning compositions in advance took considerable effort, ensuring the white ruins and vast seascape harmonized with her costume style.

Speaking of the outfit, the top is an off-the-shoulder white lace short-sleeve piece with delicate ruffles along the neckline and cuffs. The fabric is light and airy with lovely translucency, though during the shoot the sea breeze often tangled the white chiffon hem with the long, slender red ribbons. I had originally planned some static standing poses, but the strong coastal wind ended up creating dynamic, flowing movement instead. The stockings feature a classic white thigh-highs outfit design paired with red lace-up high heels; against the blue water and white pillars, the color contrast was striking, focusing visual attention instantly on the subject.

Shooting a set that requires prop coordination is slightly trickier than pure portraiture. The violin needed constant protection from sand, especially when placed on stone slabs or the sandy beach. When holding the red spider lilies for close-up shots, I had to carefully manage the bouquet position and hand poses so the vibrant crimson petals stayed focused near my face.

Later, we attempted shots playing the violin while standing directly in the sea water. Honestly, the waves broke very suddenly; once the hem was soaked, the white chiffon grew heavy and clung to my legs. However, the interplay between the damp fabric, sparkling water, and sea spray created a unique texture, presenting a natural, raw ambiance stripped of artificial perfection. Standing in the shallows on soft, wet sand made balancing difficult, and throughout the shoot, I had to guard against the seawater dirtying or corroding the platform heels.

The red-and-white color palette looked exceptionally crisp against the blue sky and white clouds, with red hair ornaments and ribbons serving as accents to break the monotony of solid white. For eyelashes and eyeshadow, I chose reddish tones, paired with a slightly vacant, distant gaze to reflect the character's detached demeanor.

In addition, while the Roman column setting looks majestic, the usable space is quite restricted. Because the pillars are fixed, adjusting the visual tension relied entirely on shifting my poses. When taking full-body leaning poses against a column, I had to balance the visual spacing between my legs so the white thigh-highs outfit maintained a slender silhouette under both backlit and front-lit conditions, while aligning the red heels to elongate bodily depth.

Instead of flat, even lighting, we preserved the natural light-to-shadow gradient, giving the edges of the skirt hem defined contrast for a more three-dimensional feel. While passersby might think a sunny beach makes for effortless shooting, holding reflectors under the scorching sun is physically exhausting—though seeing the final casual cosplay results makes it all worthwhile.

Wrapping up, the busiest part was actually cleaning the props and garments. The white dress was soaked in sea salt and fine sand, requiring an immediate soak at home to prevent yellowing. The red ribbons, tossed by sea winds all day, had tangled into knots that took patience to smooth out. Yet against the backdrop of the wind-swept hem and the vast azure ocean, all that trouble felt completely insignificant.
