[The Shorekeeper cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Tranquility and Vigil by the Deep Sea Shore

The costume's details genuinely captivated me. In this Blue and white style cosplay design, the top is crafted with translucent ruffled tulle, trimmed with textures resembling ocean waves. To faithfully recreate this texture, numerous delicate silver chains were added, draping from the neck down to the waistline; while gorgeous, they tangle very easily during wear and required constant untangling. The skirt features an asymmetrical hem—crisp white fabric in the front, spliced with gradient blue tulle along the sides and back. The longest deep-blue trailing ribbon is the real highlight, creating an effortless flowing visual rhythm whether walking or seated.

For the wig, I selected a short silver-white base and personally added blue gradient coloring to the inner layers and tips. The bangs were textured and piecey, which, paired with pale blue contacts, felt remarkably faithful during the test shoot. The makeup centered on the eyes, layering blue and muted dusty-pink tones to evoke that deep-sea chill. I opted for a vivid red lip to brighten the facial complexion, preventing the features from washing out against the blue and white backdrop.

The studio set was thoughtfully arranged with a white plush rug, sofa, Roman pillar pedestals, and abundant white blossoms, backed by white cut-out screens and flowing blue drapery. To make the ambience feel like an underwater realm or a dreamscape, cool blue lighting was heavily utilized. Photos 1 and 6 were the most memorable for me: sitting on the rug required elongating the leg lines, where the criss-cross straps of the high-heeled sandals flattered the ankles. In Photo 6, for the gesture pulling up the hood with both hands, the photographer asked me to imagine a passing breeze, taking several tries to freeze the fleeting moment when the skirt and tulle drapes billowed together.

Because this was a finished cosplay photoshoot, attention to detail was strict. For instance, in Photo 2, sitting cross-legged on the rug with arms resting across my knees required keeping my shoulders down and relaxed, projecting a laid-back yet subtly alert posture. To convey that lingering sense of waiting, we focused heavily on eye expressions—avoiding a dead-on stare at the lens in favor of a slightly unfocused, downcast gaze, as if looking into the distance yet looking right at you.

The entire shoot was quite exhausting, especially maintaining an upright seated posture while ensuring the metal chains did not slip out of place. Yet seeing the final frames made every bit of effort worthwhile. The interplay of blue and white tones against the fluffy white backdrop gives the images both a cool detachment and an inner warmth. I hope this series conveys the character's serene steadfastness.
