[Cartethyia Cosplay] Serenity and Chilly Demeanor in Wuthering Waves - Image 1

This photoshoot is one of the prioritized images from the entire set. As mentioned in the picture description, editing one photo first provides a wonderful sense of instant gratification, making this version a unified reference for subsequent color grading and fine-tuning.

The tone of the entire set is fixed on being chilly and ethereal. The overall color palette of the costume is dominated by black, white, and light blue, which, combined with the pale golden hair strands and silver accessories, creates a very comfortable cool-and-warm visual contrast. When selecting the wig, special attention was paid to the fluffiness of the hair strands, making the volume at the top and both sides look more natural rather than flattening out easily. The placement of the elf ears required repeated comparisons against my bone structure and the edges of the wig to ensure a natural transition under the lens's perspective, avoiding any visible silicone edges for this elf ears cosplay.

In terms of makeup, to coordinate with the lighting habits of the photographer @Takyi柒月, the eye makeup prominently utilized blue-purple contact lenses to heighten the overall cool feeling. The treatment of the eyelashes was relatively restrained, leaving the focus on the eyeliner and subtle blending on the lower eyelids. This creates a highly focused gaze in close-up shots. The facial contouring was kept very light, which, paired with the soft frontal light in the studio, presented a translucent and fair skin texture to better match the character's attributes under this light-toned atmospheric aesthetic.

The costume details heavily tested the skills of the tailor and stylist. The irregular silver textures on the black mini-dress beautifully showcase the precision of the embroidered lines when laid flat. The off-the-shoulder design and the high black collar form a strong visual contrast, while the metal ring and straps at the neckline reinforce the battle-worn or fantasy elements of the character's design. The light blue wide sleeves are the highlight of this outfit; the golden trim along the cuff edges combined with blue tassels easily pulls out a dynamic flow during larger movements. The metal rings at the ankles and wrists were meticulously selected, using a technique that splices matte and slight luster to ensure they wouldn't look cheap due to over-reflection under direct highlights.

For the shooting scheme, a high-key studio setup was chosen. The white-grey Gothic openwork screen behind me and the white plush rug on the floor formed a background of extremely high purity, adorned with light-colored floral arrangements to add spatial layers. This high-brightness environment demands a lot from exposure control. The photographer adopted a large area of softboxes combined with frontal light to diminish human shadows to their shallowest, making the overall frame look like it was covered in a layer of white frost. During the shoot, I intentionally selected a side-sitting posture, which could naturally spread out the shape of the skirt hem while highlighting the side profile of my face and the lines of the pointed ears. The barefoot cosplay look posed high demands on the condition of the feet; thorough exfoliation and moisturizing were done in the early stage, ultimately preserving a delicate and authentic skin texture in the final imaging without undergoing excessive liquefaction or skin-smoothing treatments.

The post-processing mainly focused on color correction and local texture optimization. The light in the raw image was already shot cleanly enough, so there was no need to disrupt the original light and shadow structure; the environmental color temperature was primarily dialed slightly toward a cool blue direction to match the visual chilly theme. When handling the skirt hem and hand borders, a frequency separation method was used to maintain the breathable feel of the gauze fabric and the texture direction of the skin. No redundant watermarks or text were added to the frame, because this kind of composition values blank space, and excessive layout would instead break the frame's original sense of order.

From landing the project, adjusting live hair and makeup, confirming clothing and prop details, to delivering the final photos, my sincere gratitude goes out to every staff member involved. I really love this kind of presentation style that carries a chilly temperament with online details. I hope that through this set of Wuthering Waves cosplay works, everyone can intuitively feel our restoration of the character's style, as well as our continuous pursuit of imaging quality.
