This time, we built an indoor set with a traditional fantasy aesthetic to capture Jsspsi from Arknights: Endfield, preparing numerous details well in advance.
For the set decoration, we laid down tatami mats and placed wooden round stools and a square table. The background was draped with pink cherry blossom branches, paper lanterns, and translucent white sheer drapes. To add depth to the composition, we positioned a dedicated warm fill light, making the overall atmosphere appear significantly softer. The costume features rich layering: the blue, white, and black color palette combined with metallic bracers offers a striking fusion of combat readiness and sci-fi aesthetic. The hair is a long silver-white wig with a subtle greenish-cyan tint, topped with black dragon horns accented in orange and pointed elf ears, dialing the character details to the max.
Props were the centerpiece during the shoot. The large scroll in my hands carried tangible weight; unrolling it revealed a horned stick-figure character that I specifically drew for this set, adding a truly playful touch. The thick grey tail was also a major challenge—to give it a natural curve while resting on the floor, I tested several different angles. In the prone pose in photo four especially, I had to lie on the tatami, calibrate my center of gravity, curl the tail naturally behind me, prop myself up with my hands, and lift my lower legs—a pose that gorgeously accentuates leg lines.
Costume details are equally noteworthy: white over-the-knee socks paired with black platform ankle boots, featuring textured gold buckles that visually elongate leg proportions. Complemented by pearls and tassels around the wrists, it looked exceptionally striking before the lens in this Stockings cosplay. The makeup focused heavily on the eyes: reddish eyeshadow blending paired with blue contacts made my gaze appear clear and spirited. Because the outfit includes numerous accessories like long black bracers and straps, dressing and adjusting took considerable time, and I had to continually ensure the wig and props stayed pristine throughout the shoot.
To infuse a stronger narrative feel, I explored various poses—pointing at the doodle on the scroll, resting my chin in my hand while seated, and reclining—striving to showcase the multi-faceted nature of the character. We encountered minor hurdles along the way, such as needing continuous support to maintain the tail's shape, while the play of light from the paper umbrella and lanterns tested lighting angles. Yet the final results made all these preparations entirely worthwhile. Throughout the process, I strived to capture the character's distinct aura, harmonizing my gaze and movements with the scene's mood.
