Shooting this Arknights Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay set, the primary focus was on the textural contrast among the black, white, and red palette, as well as adjusting the asymmetrical leg accessories. The core outfit pieces together white fabric with silver embroidery and a black leather short-sleeved jacket; the two materials differ in stiffness, requiring repeated adjustments to lay flat and smooth. The embroidered section was especially prone to creasing, so it was treated with a garment steamer before the shoot. The metallic spike trims on the cuffs required care during wear to prevent scratches. The red cords hanging on both sides needed to be straightened out neatly. For the legs, I wore over-the-knee White stockings; their silky, smooth fabric with delicate hems meant putting on the Leg garter required careful finesse to prevent excessive bunching and creasing. The slender leather strap on the left paired with the wide buckled belt and pouch on the right formed an asymmetrical visual balance. To showcase a more natural leg silhouette, I adjusted the stocking tops to avoid excessive compression. The head was cropped out during shooting because the costume's focal point lay in the cross-sword embroidery on the chest and the lines of the lower half—this asymmetrical design paired with the metallic luster of the belts delivers immense visual impact. When posing, I subtly adjusted the orientation of the hips and legs, utilizing natural light and shadow to reveal the layered depth between the White stockings and Leg garter. Before shooting, I also ensured the chest accessories were neatly aligned. This outfit boasts a rigorous structure, where geometric neckline cuts and red hems along the shorts reflect strong design aesthetics. The adjustment process was tedious yet rewarding, giving me deeper insights into showcasing costume designs combining techwear and gothic elements.
Specifically regarding the tension of the Leg garter, it had to be checked repeatedly across standing and crouching postures to prevent unsightly creases. Because the White stockings pick up stains easily, I deliberately chose a clean, light-toned backdrop. The entire shoot was a battle with these minute details, striving to bring out the architectural beauty of the garments and their crisp, polished texture.
