[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Minty Lush Night Photography Log

Having wrapped up shooting Sunna's Minty Lush look in a parking garage at night, I'd like to share the specific details behind this session. The main goal was to faithfully recreate that unique blend of cuteness and subtle rebellious edge characteristic of Sunna in Zenless Zone Zero. Constrained by schedule, outdoor takes were limited to the evening, so we deliberately chose a covered underground garage; leveraging ambient fixtures and automotive specular reflections made capturing striking frames easier than anticipated.

Regarding gear, utilizing a wide-angle lens from a high-angle downward perspective created intense linear perspective, which elongated bodily proportions while neatly emphasizing facial expressions. To tackle chaotic nighttime lighting, I positioned a portable fill light diagonally overhead. Because the garage's mix of yellow and white ambient illumination was quite messy, inadequate fill would easily muddy the image, so we dropped the ISO to keep the palette clean and skin tones luminous.

My favorite accents in this styling were the pink striped fingerless gloves and that glossy red backpack. The monochrome Cat ears headband combined with the black studded collar around the neck produced a bold visual contrast. The green monster graphics and ruffled floral hems on the apparel enriched the details, while the pink inner layer paired with dark green hairclips felt exceptionally crisp. Styling the wig required substantial effort to sculpt voluminous twin-tails and bangs; gravity and constant movement made them prone to losing shape, requiring frequent resetting.

For makeup, I selected large-diameter circle lenses paired with pink-toned drooping aegyo-sal eye shadow, placing blush high under the eyes to craft an innocent yet delightfully mischievous doll-like face. The peace-sign pose in Photo 1 turned out the best: a centered composition positioned the subject dead center, which flattered face contours and looked adorably demure from the overhead angle. The forward-pointing gesture in Photo 2 offered strong interactive appeal, but the framing sat slightly off-center and hand perspective was distorted, making Photo 1 the undeniable choice for the cover. On set, finding the optimal angle between the cat ears and my face meant tilting my head continuously to maintain seamless balance between the wig and head accessories.

It is worth noting that despite looking delightfully sweet, the outfit featured multiple textile layers and, combined with the backpack and accessories, was surprisingly heavy. Chilly draft winds inside the garage often ruffled my wig, necessitating frequent makeup touch-ups and hair re-pinning. Fortunately, the finished result was deeply gratifying. The Minty Lush concept resonated perfectly with Sunna's character essence—fresh and crisp with feline playfulness. Night photography can be exhausting, but the rich textural finish and the way the vivid pink-and-red palette popped against dark backdrops made it one of my favorite recent cosplay works.
