[Shu cosplay] Arknights: Shu Photoshoot Huaxu and Behind-the-Scenes Reflections

The photoshoot Huaxu is finally compiled! This outfit includes quite a few bulky props—especially that long fluffy tail, which demanded a strong sense of body balance during the actual shoot and required finding just the right angle to look natural. Photos 1 and 2 are mirror selfies taken while prepping gear in the dressing room; the pairing of yellow gloves with the gray-and-white striped chest accent looks very striking, while the blue braided hair combined with the horn accessories on top added noticeable weight, leaving my neck genuinely aching after a full day of shooting. Photo 3 is my favorite shot among this Huaxu set: set against the studio's Japanese style scene with shoji doors and warm lanterns, the overall proportions and character temperament were beautifully captured. The costume features large blocks of contrasting yellow, pink, and purple, made with a chunky knit outerwear coat and flowing wide-leg trousers; during the shoot, special attention had to be paid to the drape of the hem and outer fringe, or it could easily look bulky. Wearing all the props was more intricate than expected, but once the expressions and movements were dialed in, the overall styling achieved high fidelity. The combination of diffuse studio lighting and wooden flooring perfectly highlighted the makeup and costume textures. This Arknights Shu cosplay session also helped build valuable experience in handling large props and keeping long braids from obstructing garment lines, making it a truly fulfilling cosplay photoshoot experience.
