[Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Strongest Section Chief: The Slicing Action Feels Amazing

Cosplaying Hoshimi Miyabi this time really gave me a full appreciation of the "Section Chief's true strength." Previously in the game, I slashed my way through with Ellen (Shark Girl), but ever since pulling Hoshimi Miyabi, that sword-drawing feel has been downright addictive—clearing Shiyu Defense feels so much smoother now. Riding that wave of excitement, I hurried to bring her look to life.

This outfit is packed with intricate details: from the baseline white shirt and black tie inner layer to the cyan-and-yellow trimmed outer jacket, down to the H.A.N.D. badge on the chest, every element was recreated with care. The biggest headache was the tactical corset around the waist—it was laced extremely tight, and I didn't dare loosen it for the sake of the silhouette, though wearing it actually lent an authentic sense of battle-ready tension during the shoot. The massive black animal ears atop the wig are quite light, but their angle and placement are tricky; they had to stay out of my line of sight while standing tall and proud in frame.

The weapon was the centerpiece highlight this time. The long katana, rich in mechanical details, has real heft in hand. Holding it one-handed for various poses demanded substantial core strength. Particularly for the shots sitting on cinder blocks, balancing my upper body was crucial to showcase the clean lines of the legs and boots without toppling over. The Stockings cosplay paired with chunky platform boots delivered a striking visual punch—preserving the character's razor-sharp edge while adding rich layers to the overall look.

For the shoot, we deliberately chose industrial gray concrete walls and cool-toned lighting, which harmonized with the cyan-and-yellow color clash on the outfit to evoke the gritty urban atmosphere of New Eridu. My favorite shot is the seated one, as it fully showcases the entire gear setup and the leg lines, while the sheathing pose captures that effortless, composed aura of a true field agent. Even though sitting on raw concrete was a bit rough, seeing the final photos made it completely worth it—that sharp, dashing vibe was spot on.

Truth be told, I practiced drawing and sheathing the blade in the mirror countless times, but handling the actual prop still required care; although the blade edge is soft, swinging it around is still heavy. From the wig to the claws and tassels, every accessory received meticulous attention—especially the tactical backpack strap, which, even though only partially visible, truly made me feel like I was deploying on an actual mission.

I believe the core of Anime cosplay is recreating that imposing presence and those badass moments characters give you in-game; it doesn't need to be 100% identical down to every stitch, but the aura of the expressions and movements must hit the mark. Among the many shots taken, my personal favorite is the half-turn looking back over my shoulder—with eyes slightly lowered, the full aura instantly emerges. Still, I chose the seated photo for the cover because it showcases the full outfit, and fans who appreciate this Tactical style cosplay will understand the sharp charm of pairing stockings with combat boots.

As a player, stepping into the shoes of a beloved character and embodying her combat temperament in front of the lens is a deeply fulfilling experience. If given the chance in the future, I'd love to shoot a more dynamic action set—perhaps simulating her teleporting dash-slashes, which would be even more thrilling. For now, sharing this static set serves as a satisfying summary of my recent practice.
