This set captures Ceobe from Arknights. The steel frame and glass dome structure of the shooting location are very unique; the natural light is sliced into stripes, casting onto the brown-and-white jacket and lace-up boots, creating a very interesting contrast of textures.
To capture Ceobe's casual yet cute vibe this time, I experimented with candid shots and simple single-leg standing dynamics. The long-handled weapon feels heavy in the hand, but once the posture of raising the weapon to aim low or slinging it over the shoulder with a reverse grip is struck, the character's vibe emerges very quickly. Paired with the Sony A7M5 and Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8S DF lens, the large aperture can appropriately blur the complex steel structure, preserving a translucent feel while highlighting the overlapping details of the costume.
The perspective of a prime lens is actually more suitable for composing shots in this long covered bridge; there is no need to worry too much about perspective distortion, just focus on focusing and finding the right light and shadow. When shooting characters with animal ears and tails, special attention must be paid to the backlighting of the fur, which makes the entire silhouette look fluffy and highly therapeutic.
I tried this set of movements many times because the spear tip needed to block part of the background bokeh perfectly while maintaining center-of-gravity balance. Fortunately, the light and shadow transition in the final product is quite soft, perfectly matching Ceobe's cool yet dorky atmosphere. Although it was a bit tiring after the shoot, seeing myself wielding the weapon in the viewfinder made the day's immersion completely worth it for this piece of Industrial style photography.
