[Janus Cosplay] Azur Lane Halloween Special: A Spooky Night of Patent Leather and White Hair

Trick or treat! This time, I recreated the Halloween styling of Azur Lane's Janus for a Halloween cosplay shoot. The distinctive dark Gothic Halloween atmosphere combined with the character's originally well-behaved image creates a very special visual clash. The glossy black Patent leather outfit is the most eye-catching element of the entire look, complemented by a small black choker around the neck that casts a crisp luster under the studio highlights. The ruffled cuffs and skirt hem retain a maidenly playfulness, while the semi-sheer mesh patchwork on the chest adds extra layers to the overall design. For the wig, I selected a pale white hair color styled into twin-tails and tied with black ribbon bows; paired with a cat-ear headband and blue contact lenses, the makeup looks translucent yet touched with a hint of mystery, perfectly suited for the Halloween cosplay theme. The glossy black bat wings and long tail on the back were the standout props of the day, instantly amping up the little devil vibe. The black pointed garter straps on the thigh combined with over-the-knee socks and high heels for a Black tights outfit visually elongated the lines. The set dressing was meticulously arranged—the crosses and hanging iron chains in the background created a solemn sense of mystery, while spiderwebs and bat silhouettes added spooky nighttime details. For props, scattered piles of books, jack-o'-lanterns, skulls, and a ghost plush wearing a witch hat captured the Halloween elements thoroughly. The vintage metal lantern and crystal chandelier served as excellent decorative accents during lighting. Because the entire costume used highly reflective materials, lighting control during the shoot was quite a challenge, requiring several adjustments of the reflector angles to avoid blown-out highlights. When interacting with props like the lantern and pumpkins, the model's tilt angles were deliberately adjusted to achieve more natural visual layering. This styling respects the original character while fitting the Halloween theme, making the entire photoshoot full of ritual and atmosphere.
